3 blinking lights - Samsung DLP

Have a Samsung 61" DLP model P6163W and replaced bulb 2 weeks ago. I now get 3 blinking lights where the power button is and there is not picture or sound. I tried resetting the timer (Mute > 1 > 8 > 2 > Power) but it didn't work. Any suggestions?

Really appreciated the very fast reply. The light bulb was purchased online for $250 was shipped to us in a complete kit. Basically we popped the old one out entirely in it's case and popped the new one in. No unscrewing required except for the bulb cover on tv. It worked for two weeks and just suddenly last night shut off and will not come back on. I'd checked the bulb at least 5 times and there is no smells of burnt electronics and all the cables are connected. I was thinking the ballast but what makes it go bad all of the sudden while it was working for weeks. We were watching tv when it shut off on us suddenly.

I'm going to seek TV repair tech now or just want to buy a new tv..

Remove your new bulb and examine the connector carefully. The inexpensive replacement bulbs tend to arc and ruin your $700 ballast; sad to say. If everything looks good, make sure the interlock switch on the bulb cover opening is engaging. It won't fire up if it thinks that door is open.

If using a cable or sat box try a DVD etc when set cold, a box can cause lockup issues via signal.

Not a color wheel is correct, more likely a DMD which is rather pricy and almost as much as the entire light engine which comes with it.

Ur tv have a LED POWER indicator light and a LED light indicator LAMP flashing?Yes,this is a DLP Tv the lamp live is over,must be replaced it with a new lamp.No,LED light LAMP indicator flashing,than ur tv is a LCD or a Plama tv.Than ur power supply board is dead.Must replaced the power supply board to solved this problems.

LAMP light blinking after replacement.

Samsung HL-P6163W DLP TV won't turn on. The lamp light next to the power button blinks. I changed out the lamp and that didn't change anything.

My 60in.Samsung will loose the picture but if I reboot it by pulling the plug the picture will return.Also the lamp light will blink I replaced the bulb about 1 1/2 years ago.

Call Encompass Parts 1-800-638-3328 If its not the Lamp again then it will be Ballast Board or Defective Lamp Fan

could still be the lamp but it could also be the Ballast for the lamp has failed. I've replaced a lot of Ballasts on DLP machines.

This sounds to me like one of two possibilities. First, check your ballast. If you're going through bulbs faster than you think you ought to be, you may have a ballast that is overloading. Its the 3" x 8" circuit board that connects directly to the bulb. They are plentiful and often cheap. Thats what I'd try first. If that doesnt' do it, I would invest in a new power supply board. That the board that the tv power cable hooks directly in to. This should give you a start, Comment back if you still need further help. Good luck.

I have heard of some lamps only lasting a few months depending on where they are purchased. Sadly there is no way to test the lamp, short of substituting in a working set to try it. . and to test the ballast or DMD you would need detailed service info as DLPs are fairly easy to diagnose, however they have numerous things that must happen in proper sequence for the set to boot up. all 3 lights blinking means lamp has a fault the service manual says replace the lamp. If you need the service training manual for that model let me know and I will post the link as the training manual has excellent trouble shooting breakdowns for that model DLP
