    Vac8,

thanks for the reply. I already cleaned the video head but still the same. i'm just wondering if it's a mechanical problem, for i have fix 1 before but different symptoms. The previous problem i have with the same model is when you record a seen, you can see it clear in the LCD display. but once you've played the recorded seen , only half of the display shows the recorded video and the other half is black blank.I check the mechanism and found out that one of the tape guide is missaligned. Now the problem i'm dealing with is when i record a seen and played it. it will display the recorded video but it also produce thick horizontal lines in it.

Clean the heads(use the specified cleaning tape sparingly).
Change tape. Using Panasonic video tape? It sounds like no. You might get by with Sony... Try Panasonic.
The tapes are different thickness, durability and therefore suitability for cameras. Try to get ME -type tape( metal evaporated) instead of MP( metal particle) as the particles tend to flake off more readily. The blue often means no signal(video) was recorded in that space(on the tape). Let me know it it helps.

Black lines on playback no playback

hi, if you have stuck the head cleaner in and this has not removed the black lines then the head might either need a thorough clean or may be damaged.

Panasonic GS35

i suggest you insert a head cleaning casette to see if this removes the lines.the lines occur when one of the heads is dirty or not operating. if this does not solve the fault then the head might need changing.

Panasonic video camera

The NV-GS27 came out in Spring 2006, and the NV-GS60 came out in Spring 2007.

The latest entry level MiniDV Camcorder from Panasonic is the PV-GS90 - it may not yet be available in all areas.

The NV-GS60 is not the latest model.
