Have tried to format card in camera but get nowhere. Camera freezes and can only be reset by opening battery compartment. Have tested card in MP3 player and works fine and stores many albums, so, I'm thinking camera can't cope with this extra memory and needs a much smaller rated SD card. Can you help?

I need to amend my comment above. After deleting the original partition(s) on the 2Gb SD card and creating a new 512Mb partition, you should partition the remaining space on the SD card as a 2nd FAT16 partition. Afterward, only format the 512Mb partition on the SD card. This may be done using the formatting functionality included in Windows. Be sure that you select the FAT option, and not FAT32. Once having completed the formatting, eject your SD card and insert it into its slot in your camera. You should now be ready to take pictures.

hi there
i'm afraid the biggest card you can use on this camera is 512 mb, which should give you about 150 pics at medium quality.
