I had a similar problem where the refrigerator side was not cooling well but I could feel very little air coming through the vent in the top left corner.I blew hot air from a blow driver into the vent for about 1 minute which melted ice that was hanging from the bottom of the vent cover.Cold air started blowing harder thru the vent and cured the problem.

Many times when a unit has a defrost problem the coils freeze up and do not allow the fresh food side to cool properly...check for a build up of ice on the inside back wall of the freezer compartment. if there is a build up of ice, you have a defrost problem. Also, check to make sure the evaporator fan in the freezer is blowing the air into the fresh food side.

We have a Kitchenaid superba side by side. The freezer is working fine, but the refrigerator isn't cold. I have vacuumed the coils at the top of the model, but didn't solve the problem. I can...

The cooling normally comes from the freezer side, through cooling tubes. There should be a fan either blowing or sucking the air through these cooling tubes. So the first thing you should do is verify that the evaporator fan is turning and then see if you feel air flow in both compartments. If you have air flow in the freezer but not the refrigerator side, then the cooling tube must be blocked.

Most of the time the blockage is ice or frost, and you will need to open up the inner back panel of the freezer to get to the cooling tube. Look for an opening under the evaporator. Suggest a hair dryer to defrost the tube.

I have a kitchenaid, KSRS25RSMS01, refrigerator and the freezer is fine and the fridge is not cooling. I have checked the evaporator and it has normal frost, and the fan is turning fine, but the air coming...

Your frig has the classic symptoms of a frig with a clogged or blocked vent between the
freezer section and the refrigerated section. This clog can occur due to (a) stuff in the freezer blocking the vent, or (b) ice in the freezer blocking the vent, or (c) both of the above.

The way a refrigerator works is it cools the freezer, and the warmest air in the freezer is vented out
to the refrigerator section. If this vent is blocked (and everything else is working), your refrigerator
just became a eye-level small freezer atop a well-insulated section of dangerously warm food.

Kitchenaid refrigerator w/bottom freezer french doors

please check the air flow to the refrigerator side. it could be a stuck damper motor or damper thermostat. if the fan inside the freezer is running, you should be able to feel cold air coming out off the vents in the refrigerator side. you might have to press the button light switch on the panels to run the fan.

Refrigerator compartment not cooling

If you are sure the fan in the freezer is running and you don't feel any air flow out of the top middle vent inside the fridge section, then the damper motor must be bad. The damper motor is behind that vent cover inside the fridge section.
