Frigidare front loader washer GLTF1040ASO

Fast spin sounds like drum is off guides or something. Loud banging sounds that only stop if I stop spin cycle. Slow spin not as bad but water left in clothes.

Hi, I have a frigidare affinity front load washing machine and when it is running a cycle it sounds like the drum is banging around in the machine. It's a new noise, did something come loose? What

Hello gen0313 - From what you are describing it sounds like the unit could possibly have a broken shock/bearing or damaged tub. A certified technician will need to accurately diagnosis the bearing and pulling system behind the drum for repairs.

Maytag Centennial washer makes loud bang and the end of cycle.

I don't think it would be the bearing, as no sounds abnormal occur during it's wash cycle. I think it's at the end of the spin dry cycle, that a "brake" is applied which stops the drum from spin drying, but is being applied overly hard, which causes the drum to "BANG", stop abruptly by the brake. Only a washer repairman could deal with that problem, but, it's NOT dangerous to the washer, IF that's what the problem is. Contact a washer repairman in your area, and they'll probably be able to tell you if it's THAT or something more serious, which I doubt. The reason why the washer moves a bit when at the end of the cycle is probably because the brake which causes the spin dry cycle to come to it's end, does so very fast, which displaces the centrifugal energy abruptly towards lateral motion. Not really dangerous either.

Loud clunking, banging sound during the spin/drain cycle.

the make , model and year are missing but if it is a top loader unit , it indicates that the tub suspension bar motion absorbers have broken and need replacing

Front loader making loud noise with spin cycle

It may be something that was in the wash and fell thru the holes in the inner drum. Check all the plastic agitators and make sure they are all secure and an attach bolt has not backed out of one and rubbing the outer tub. It will wear a hole in it fast if it is.
Usually when the bearings go bad, it gets very loud on the spin cycle, like a loud roar and sometimes clothes will have rust or grease stains on them.
I just replaced my tub bearings on my Frigidare and spent about $60. They are all pretty much the same. On mine they only list the complete rear outer tub assembly with bearings, but you can knock the old bearings and seal out and match them up at a bearing supply house or you can buy online. Online seems much cheaper. If you buy bearings, make sure you get ones with a -2rs on the end of the part number. ex. 6308-2rs. They are sealed and hold up much better in water environment.
I would give it a try, the junk man doesn't care if it comes in pieces or one big piece.

There are a couple online articles that can probably help you. Do a google search for 'washer rear tub bearings"

Loud banging on spin cycle frigidare washing machine model no. fws235rft2

If this is a front loader this is a common problem. Unfortunately, it is also a very extensive project (about 8 hours). The tripod supports that attache the drum to the center spindle commonly break. The remedy is to replace both the front and rear tub, and the basket as well. It is also recommended that you replace the drain pump as well. Generally, they will cover the parts (not including the drain pump) under warranty but the labor will be a customer pay.

Three day old Indesit washing machine

Is it a maytag? My maytag front load washing machine had 2 long bolts with plastic braces on them, to keep the drum still during shipping. Mine would bang and shake all over. I got the book out before I finally figured it out. I had to take the back cover off and remove the bolts and plastic braces over them. They look like they' 8 inches long or so. It works great now.

ckd your warranty papers sounds like rear drum support(spider) has broken will require new basket and rear drum half est cost 400-600 spider is not a separate part and rear bearing is probably damaged that too is not a separate part and require rear tub replacement
