The supplied software is not compatible with Mac Computer and Sony does provide any software or driver for Mac Computer for this Camcorder.

However, you can transfer the video to the Mac Computer. Refer the link given below for the instruction:

After that you can use any Video Editing Software to edit the video in the Computer.

I have a Sony DCR-TRV30. Your camara is probably similar. On the bottom left outside corner of mine, there are two buttons, labeled "exposure" and "program AE," and a small thumb wheel above them. Set the indicator to "camera" and open the screen. Push the "exposure" button and a light grey rectangular screen with a minus sign on one end and a plus sign on the other will appear near the top left corner of the screen. Rotate the thumb wheel so that the small black square in the rectangular screen will move from the "+" side towards the "-" side while the image on the screen gets darker.

It is problem of defective ccd imager in camera and this part needs to be replaced.

Sony will repair DCR-DVD101 free of cost as per announced scheme of ccd problem.

You may have to go to the sony site to download drivers and software for your camera to be recognized

i clicked on Sony CCD Support and the only response I receive is "This article is unavailable". Good support!

I do not see any mirror either in lcd section of your Sony DCR-DVD101 camera as you can see in below picture.
Please let me know your problem with details.

Connecting wire (harness / flexible) between lcd board and main board of camera seems broken.
If you want to repair at yourself, let me know to provide you further info like part number etc.

1- record something and make sure there sound
2- playback the what you just recorded
3- if no video but sound is ok, send it back to Sony. They will fix it for free (CCD sensor is no good)
