Hi I am having a problem to with the MTP device. Bottom right corner of my screen has the window that says found new hardware...MTP device. I can not close out the window because it keeps coming back. Then I hear this like bubble sound when it's on the screen. Any suggestions? I think its for my new phone that I downloaded on the laptop. I am going to uninstall it and reinstall it and see what happens. Any other suggestions please let me know thanks...

MTP: Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) is a protocol with an accompanying set of drivers developed by Microsoft to connect portable devices to a Windows XP PC and synchronize digital media content between those devices and the PC. MTP is geared toward portable devices with hard drives. With regards to your issue, what do you mean by all of your memory of your device is empty? Does all the songs are all deleted?

I turn on my sansa e250 it goes to refresh database, then blanks

There are two connection settings in USB: MTP and MSC. For some reason MTP is the default, but it doesn't connect properly on all computers. Select MSC and plug the player in again, the computer will recognize sansa e250 but not show the driver just yet. It is installing recognition software (just basic drivers - nothing heavy) and it doesnt tell you what its doing until its complete. WAIT FOR IT. Once it is complete you will see both the sansa e250 and the removable memory slot in your "my computer" now you're good to go.

Cant install mp3 player

Go into the menu of the Sansa itself and change the USB mode to MSC mode- the user manual will tell you how to do this. Then try plugging it into the computer again. If it still fails, you may have to install Microsoft's MTP Porting kit, but I would have to know your Operating System before i could tell you for sure. Here is a link to some additional information that may or may not be helpful - from people who have had the same problem:

My GPX mp3 player says MTP?

MTP stands for Media Transfer Protocol. If you did not run your installation CD BEFORE plugging the mp3 player into the computer, Windows XP and higher will read it as an MTP Device. As long as the player does not cause you problems, there is nothing wrong with your computer calling it that. If this is a problem: unplug the mp3 player from the computer, uninstall all software for that player, restart computer, reinstall allsoftware from installation CD, restart computer, then plug mp3 player into computer. Good luck!

My toshiba windows vista cant recognise my SandDisk sansa view

If "MTP" equals MP3, then open my computer and look for a new drive letter (in details view, You'll have to rest over the icons or click on them to show all details), if there is one that wasn't there before installing the player, then that is it.
Good Luck.

MP3 Transfer

Turn off the Mp3 off then plug it into the computer. If it doesn't work keep it on and try it that way.
