Battery Dont Charge

Camera worked fine and then battery went dead and wont recharge, when installed in the battery charger and plugged in the red LED on the charger just flashes and battery is still dead after 24 hours of charging it.
Battery is so dead camera wont even turn on. I have the very same problem. i haven't used my camera for a long time though, and now that i took it out to use it the battery was dead so i tried re-charging it. The red light keeps flashing and the battery doesn't get charged no matter how long i let it charge...is there a problem with the battery or the charger?

I had the same problem. I had a 1 year warranty, so I called 1800-435-7732 and they sent me a new battery within 5 days. I just received it today and it works perfectly. Hope this helps you! =]

SOURCE: Battery Dont Charge

jpierre's solution (in another thread) was right on the money. Touch the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three timeshigher seems to clear it.

In short, it works like a charm.

SOURCE: My Samsung L73 digital camera will not charge.

Have you recharged the battery many times since you owned it? Did you leave it alone for an extended time and it completely discharged and died? Rechargeable batteries sometimes only last 3 years.

No battery light on charger on samsung st500

The rechargeable battery sounds like the main problem, but the charger needs to be checked to make sure there is not a secondary problem.

Nikon Coolpix 5700 was working fine, now it won't turn on. Batteries are fine, but camera just won't power up at all. No error message, nothing but a dead (black) screen. No idea why it won't come on--it's...

Two quick suggestions first is the battery chamber contacts clean make sure they are clean. Are you using a battery pack with rechargeable AA's ? if so check the battery orientation it only takes one out of place. If you are using the rechargeable battery I know you said the batteries were fine but make sure the power is up on the rechargeable. I've had it where I put a battery on charge knowing it was pretty well dead came back 5 minutes later and the light was green, took the battery of the charger unplugged the charger plugged the charger back in and put the battery back on the charge. It then completed its true cycle.

Battery Charger Olympus li-40c

I had this problem a few weeks ago (i.e. flashing red LED). All I did was remove the power plug from the charging unit, turned it around 180 degrees, then plugged it back into the charging unit. Red LED came on steady & the battery (which is the one that came with the camera) recharged as normal.

WON"T WORK

sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)

My jazz179 wont charge and it wont come on its so dead....should i return it?

Well, either the battery is out of place, or the battery has been recharged inproperly, no battery life left, or it has been charged to long. Try getting a new battery? Maybe that will help.

JAzz DV179

Well.. I have to plug in the charger that came with the dv-179. If I use my Phone (motorola usb) charger, or a USB cable (into the computer or a hub), all it does is light up the back red light (and not the front 'self timer' led) and does not charge the camera. So remember, if the back led lights up, you've got the wrong charger!
