I can figure out how to use the timer, but not how to start timing laps. The mode button doesn't display a lap mode. I really just want to be able to time how long it takes me to do a lap. Thanks!

I ran into the same problem w/ my new Timex Expedition. I emailed their help desk and they said that the Expedition models do not have lap memory feature. You need an IronMan watch to get lap recall. Wish I knew that before getting this Expedition watch...

Maybe the battery is weak? Does it have a light? If the battery is failing then the light will be weak or wont work at all. You can check
www.timex.com for your watch, they might have a downloadable manual.

I had this problem. I simply flipped the metal plate on the back 180 degrees.
I noticed on the inside of the metal plate a pad about the size of the battery, and guessed from the other notes that this must perform some kind of insulating function. Furthermore, the writing on the outside of the metal plate was not oriented "up"... that is if I was holding the watch in front of me like I was reading it, the writing on the back plate was upside down. Both of these clues led me to believe that the plate had been re-installed wrong. Flipping it around fixed (restored) the beep.
