Hold the phone face down and lengthways in your left hand with the top of the phone at the first set of knuckles (near your finget tips). Then take your right hand and place the base of your palm on the battery cover. Now gradually start to apply pressure with your right hand in a downward and forward direction simultaneously. Wrap the fingers of your right hand over the fingers of your left hand and pull for more control.
And there you go, bobs your auntie.

Sillysocks, thank you SO MUCH for your brilliant answer! This phone is my "reserve", so I don't use it very often. I tried and tried, I just couldn't get it open. Neither could my husband, who is usually good at this sort of thing. The picture in the official guide was no use at all. But after reading your excellent, detailed explanation, I got the battery cover off within seconds! I was astounded and, of course, delighted. Many, many thanks to you. I know it's a long time since you composed your Fixya answer, but I'm so grateful that I just had to post this anyway.

Place a small pencil rubber between thumb and phone - you will find that it gives a much better grip. It worked for me.

Question edited for clarity.

Bose SoundDock Portable v2 Remote Battery Replacement
  1. Step 1 Remote Battery. Using a quarter, turn the battery cover 1/8th of a turn counterclockwise.
  2. Remove cover and battery. The new battery should be placed with the positive (flat) side facing up. The correct battery for your remote is a CR2032.

The immobiliser for my Chev Aveo has been activated & I dont I don't know how to bypass it.How can I deactivate/bypass the immobiliser. Im stuck and have no money to pay auto-electricians.

If the battery is dead in the key fob then the following will help you
1. Remove the screw from the back of the cover and open the cover of the transmitter.
2. Pull the transmitter out of the cover and carefully detatch the sticker from the unit.
3. Remove the battery and replace it with the new one. Make sure the positive side of the battery faces up. Use one three-volt, CR1620 or the equivalent.
4. Attatch the sticker and put the transmitter unit in the cover.
5. Put the two halves back together and replace the screw. Make sure the cover is on tightly, so water will not get in.
6. Test the transmitter operation.

Want to change how your Nokia E71 looks? Why not try a different colored keypad or faceplate? Here are photos and instructions which show you how you can do it yourself. Even though it’s simple, I have to warn you to only try this if you are prepared to risk ending up with a broken phone.
For the extra faceplates and spare parts, many people seem to like CNN.CN. They include the Nokia E71’s faceplate, bottom cover and even a whole body replacement. The instructions below will show you how to remove just the faceplate and bottom cover.
I purposely omit the instructions that will enable you disassemble the phone further because the photos just look plain scary.

My lens is stuck!

Sometimes this can happen if the battery cover was accidentally opened while the lens was moving. Try something simple. Turn the camera off. Open the battery cover and remove the batteries for 5 minutes. replace the batteries and secure the cover. Turn on the camera. The lens should go to it's home position. Let me know if this helps. And thanks for coming to FixYa. Don't forget to rate my answer!

Lens cover only partially opens

This blog post outlines repair procedures for stuck lens covers. An A400 is used as an example. But it should be similar for the A430:
