Olympus C-750 shutter problems

I have an Olympus C-750 that I was in love with untilwhen the shutter button decided to stop working. Zoom in and out still works, but the shutter will not respond to the button or the remote. The other strange symptom is when I turn the camera on, it snaps two pictures and then won't take anymore. How do I reset the firmware so that it goes back to the original mode? Any other suggestion on how to fix this is greatly appreciated!!!

Changing the firmware won't change anything. The micro switch may be stuck in the on postition. If you are familiar with micro circuits, you could get the switch from Olympus or USCamera.com and replace it. Or, send the camera to Olympus or an Olympus authorized shop.

Shutter release inoperative

The "button" is actually just a plastic extension for the actual switch on the printed circuit board. You will have to dismantle the camera to gain access to the board and then use a DMM to test the switch contacts.

Power button does not turn camera on. LOVE this camera. Can deal with the battery door problem but not this. Thank you.

my latch was broken at plastic not the door but on the camera. i drilled a very small hole in the door and then into the camera. i used one of the spare very small screws that came on my ring door bell and screwed the screw into the new hole .worked great

Olympus mju zoom 140 35mm camera. shutter has started clicking as if taking when zooming (in or out)even when not pressing the shutter button...?

This is like to be the zoom motor playing up.
If the camera is new[1 year or less] return it.
A repair is not a likely option.

TROUBLESHOOTING c-750

There are a couple issues related to "slow" that I have with my C-750, and this is how I get around them.

One is the write speed to the xD card. This can prevent you from taking sequential pictures quickly, as the camera displays the current picture it is writing until it finishes. You can make the image of the current picture go away and use your viewfinder again, while the camera is writing the picture, by pressing the shutter button halfway and releasing it. Then you can see your subject in the viewfinder again!

Second is the delay between the time the shutter button is pressed and the time the shutter actually opens (when the camera actually takes the picture). This can be fixed by lining up your shot and pressing the shutter button halfway and holding it for a few seconds. This will give the camera time to adjust and lock focus, shutter speed, etc. There is a small green dot on the display below the battery indicator which will blink a few times when the button is pressed halfway, then remain on steady. When the green dot is steady, the camera is ready. Press the shutter button, and the camera should immediately take the picture.

Shutter Problem

I had an Olympus C-3000 this same type of sympton happened to me. I sent it off to Olympus to be fixed (via local camera dealer). When it came back, after about 10 shots, it failed again the same way. Back to Olympus a second time. Came back and failed again after about 10 shots. This time dealer worked with Olympus and I was given a new reburbished camera (same model). This whole thing took about 4 months. Time frame was a couple of years ago.

Record a movie in QuickTime Movie mode

After selecting Quicktime Movie mode from the mode dial, you can begin recording by pressing the shutter button. Press the shutter button again to stop recording the movie.
