Mounting is not so critical,

• If it is the same size of the original , replace as it was

On most, it is perpendicular to the PCB

• What important is the polarity,

positive side goes to positive, same with the negative.

Good chance a shorted diode on the other end of the pcb where the big wire harness connects.
Four little 1N4001 diodes (D10 through D13 I think) and Two diode bridges (the black sqares standing off the board on four legs).

You need a meter to check them. Any one of those six could be the problem. If it's one on the 1N4001's
then you should replace them all and upgrade to 1N4007's.

I just upgraded some some parts on my ADA880 sub pcb today. Love the sound of this system no longer use it with my computer - have it hooked up to a DVD player with digital out. So basic but so awesome.

SOURCE: My Ada 880 speakers work fine, but the subwoofer

Hi there bud, this could also mean that something in the Subwoofer has blown or shorted, the best thing to do is too take it back too the shop where you bought it and ask them too replace it .its not worth opening it up yourself and losing the warranty...
Happy new year . Hope you come right :)

Iam trying to find the value of a capacitor which is damaged on the GPU board for the following product. Nvidia 9800GT 1GB graphics card. The component is situated at the top right hand side of the GPU...

1) Whatever company that made that Nvidia 9800GT graphics card, isn't going to produce a schematic for the general public.
(EVGA, VisionTek, Galaxy, Sparkle, BFG, etc.)

They paid big bucks to Nvidia for the GPU, the schematics, and all licensing fees.

2) If you indicate that you believe most of the capacitors, (Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors), are of the same values, capacitance, and voltage, then remove another one of them, and test the capacitance.

Multimeter set to OHM's. An economical unit can be purchased for around $5 to $12.
Most auto parts stores carry them, as well as a multitude of other stores.

3) The Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors you are looking at, have the values printed on them. They are just in the capacitor manufacturer's code.

How do you fix the humming problem

Humming on the sound are commonly caused by faulty electrolytic capacitor on the power supply section and or at the output I.C.Diagnosing the the faulty parts are quite technical so I've advice you to leave it to the expert because electrolytic capacitor store some electricity which can cause you an electric shock or further damage to some components if a little careless is done.
Dry joints is also going to consider.

Pls rate my help.

Missing capacitors?

NC in the schematic is a NP (Non-polorized film Capacitor) each C6, C7 and C54 of the schematic above are NC caps as opposed to polorized electrolytic caps... Since the value isn't printed the requirement was replaced with an opposing cap, in this case with a polorized electrolytic instead. It is common to see these design changes and see them still noted in the schematic because they appear on the board. This usually happens when it was too late to correct the board or more costly to redraft the board to eliminate the pos#...

Where to buy the capacitors?

Which Capacitors, You need to knowthe voltage and farad rating (ex. 16V 1000uF) they are different, If I can get the schematic then I will need the component #. Are you sure that the capacitors are SMT and not "through hole" units? Usually the Electrolytic capacitors (Canister looking things) are the first to go. They will start to swell and leak causing power problems. Do you have the unit open? Can you upload a pic of the boards?

Need schematic diagram, some advice and ultimately replacement parts

You have something in short circuit in power supply pattern, so filter coils are burnt. It may be voltage regulator, or regulating transistor, electrolytic capacitor or even shorted diode at pwr. input serving to protect in case of inverse polarity applied. Check all for short. Was it reverse polarity or overvoltage occured?

Re:philips

It might test ok resistance wise but might break down under the load of the television in operation. Then again it depends on how badly it was burned.
