Philips GOGEAR 4 GB mp3, unable to download videos to it

When I add the video to my philips GOGEAR 4 GB SA6145 to the media converter for philips that was the software from the CD, it converts successfully. but when the converter then attempts to put the newly converted video on the mp3 player it says it is unable due to the fact of another application is using it, but i have closed all applications, turned off the sync device on windows media player, and even installed on a new computer and attempted it, but same errors occured

any ideas of how i could get videos on to the mp3 player?

Merry Christmas Leo! Just got a GoGear for my son and my daughter. I used the bundled application to convert a DIVX AVI file to the Philips GoGear format. Then just open the Windows Explorer, locate the Video folder on the Philips (which should show up as removable drive). Then copy the file over as you would any other data file.

The disk it comes with its broken so how do i put videos

You can download the Media converter software from Philips support site. Here is the URL:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=SA6145/37&slg=en&scy=US

Ok, please note that the videos downloaded directly from the internet may not work properly on the player. You have to first convert them into a format that is suitable to the player using Philips media converter.
Download the Philips Media Converter software. Make sure corresponding Codec for playing videos is installed before downloading.
The codecs are required to play videos on your player. To download Codec, you can:
1. Go to www.download.com/windows
2. Search for "directshow codec pack"
3. Download and install one of the codec packs from the list of results
Now to download video, connect your player to the PC and click the icon "Internet video downloader" at your desktop.
Open the website where your desired video clip locates (Like from you tube). Move the cursor over the video you want to download until you see the Download icon. Double click on the icon to enable download.
After downloading, the Media Converter for Philips will then start to convert the video to the format that suits your player. If your player is connected to the PC, the video will be transferred to the player automatically.

Hope this helps.

Philips GoGear SA3245 (4 GB) Digital Media Player Can I download songs form I Tunes to this device?

You can download music for the GoGear from any reputable website, iTunes. it is just a case of plugging in the USB cable, go to My Computer and Look for the Philips Removable Drive.

open it up, go to the Music Folder and add your MP3 songs.

To add videos to this player you need to use the software Philips provided. It's a bit complicated to use so follow the instructions carefully. The software will convert the videos to a Philips format to enable you to add them to the Video Folder. You can't just add a file as this will not work, it needs to be converted.
Hope this helps you.

How do you load movies on the philips sa6145 4gb mp3 player

You have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert/transfer videos. If the converter is not recognizing a specific video type - FLV, for instance - download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder and convert the videos to AVI format first. Then the Philips Media Converter will recognize them.

The Philips Media Converter is not capable of converting an entire DVD - you will have to acquire video editing software, and then break up the DVD files into 15-minute chunks, and then convert each chunk.

If you are getting a codec error, do a google search for free video codecs - they are out there. Windows Codec Pack and downloading the latest version of quicktime will give you most of these needed codecs.

This player is not capable of playing copyright-protected videos - so don't even bother with them.

Additional information is available both from Philips website and from Arcsoft's website.

How do you add videos to a gogear?

You may have to download Riva Flv Encoder and convert the YouTube videos to AVI format first. Then you have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert and transfer video files to the Philips GoGear. Because the software likes to play a preview of the movie, you may have to download additional codecs to make it work. Copyright-protected or DRM-encrypted video files are not compatible with the GoGear.

Philips gogear 4 gb mp3 - cannot transfer dvd videos to player or wmp

The media converter will not translate certain copyright-protected videos (and it will not even recognize certain formats like flv)

Run the videos through an AVI converter first, then re-run the avi file through the media converter
