F1 Blowing after replacing RCA cable Technics

Tried replacing the RCA cable inside the turntable but when trying to play a vinyl the power cuts out, resulting in having to replace the F1 (250mA) fuse. Any suggestions?

ability to switch between 110 and 220 voltages. is it set at the wrong setting to power on? why did you need to replace inside wires? maybe something was touching inside and has blown the fuse. see legitimate repair shop.

Distorted sound on Technics SL-1200/1210

You could be getting acoustic feedback from the speakers to the TT's. Lower the volume or somehow isolate them from room sounds and vibrations.

My rca output cord is cut...dothey sell a

Finding replacement parts for anything but technics seems to be difficult. However, if your familiar with soldering or have a friend who can, if you open these tables, you'll notice that the RCA cables are simply hard wired directly to the board inside the unit. You can take any RCA cable and solder it to the same posts if your careful when you strip your wires.

Hi, I have a technics stereo system from 1986.

If the turntable is belt driven you may have a stretched and slipping belt that needs replacement. This seems most likely and is simple to fix. You will have to lift off the turntable to see the mechanism beneath. It may be held on by a nut or clamp. A web search for the model name and "dirve belt" may yield a replacement.

If it is driven directly by a motor without a belt, the motor is probably dying. Replacement more involved, expensive, and hard to justify, unless you're really into vinyl.

Tonearm not emitting signal into Serato

there is a switch that cuts off the signal when the tone arm docks.check the wiring is not broken inside and that the switch is ok.typically, red green white black red and white are plus and left ground is green and right ground is black.the collar that screws on to the head unit has 4 pins.make sure the contacts are clean.measure the wires one at a time from the tone arm to the rca plugs on the back.the green and black go to the outside collars, and the red and white go to the center pin of the rca plugs

Computer not playing my technics table

More than likely the RCA cables need to be replaced. Torque, Serato, and all digital dj programs require a clear signal path coming from the source (turntable, cdj, etc). If it does not have a clear signal, or 1 side is louder than the other, it will not work.

You have to remember, these are analog turntables connecting to a digital system. The signal quality is different, and your RCA cables have to be prestine.

The following cables work very well for this type of configuration:

Poor quality sound

Double check all your cables. The only 2 things that affect sound on the 1200s is the RCA cables and the tonearm. I would first replace the RCA cables to a better quality set.

Technics Trouble... Please Help

You will have to replace the RCA cables on your turntable. You can try to do this yourself, however soldering experience is required. You can purchase the parts HERE - and install yourself, or try to find a reputable service center area to replace the cables.

A word of advice, try not to use the original RCA cables that are installed with the turntables, as they aren't of the greatest quality. Try and put a better brand, or use the MOGAMI cables, available HERE.

Have fun!

Where is the ground wire connected to on the Technics SL-BD27?

You will more than likely need to wire it up from the inside of the unit, unfortunately. Parts for this model are discontinued. You can also try an iPod cable. As the size is a 1/8" plug - same as an iPod cable, then just cut the other end, and ground to your receiver.

Weak output signal when compared to my other table.

This does happen. The RCA cables used on the Technics 1200's aren't of the greatest quality, and you will find lower output on some turntables. This can become an issue, if you record your sets to your PC, or you use Serato, Final Scratch, or any of the digital control set ups. There is only 1 way to resolve this, and that's to switch out the RCA cables on both turntables, and ensure that they are matched. This can be done by any qualified audio service technician. Just make sure you choose some good quality RCA cables, and not the standard OEM Technics cables.
