Most likely time to replace the capacitor with a new Lithium Ion battery. This is the correct way to fix this problem. No one uses the old capacitors any more. I do this repair daily as a Certified Master Horologist/watch repair man. Ron at TimelyWatchRepair.com

Where is sell the bezel of seko kinetic SQ 50?

The bezel is available through any certified Seiko dealer, though I would suggest using one with a Certified Master Horologist on staff.

How to get bezel for seiko SQ 50

All parts can be purchased by phone from the Seiko New York call line. They are extremely helpful and get your part as soon as it is available. This is the TRUE Seiko parts line - NOT an off brand. I have used this call line numerous times over the last couple of decades for my husbands Seiko watches. the phone number is:
(201) 529-5730 If they cannot get it no one can!

Seiko watch self winding mechanism does not keep watch wound. I have to set the watch unless i wear it 24-7

The issue reported is not about how to set the watch, it is about the fact that it stops if it us not worn continually. This could be an indicator of the movement needing to be serviced. Automatic watches such as yours need to be serviced regularly, every 3-5 years or as needed by such indications. My recommendation is to see a Certified Master Horologist to test the watch on the timing machine.

When serviced, there should be approximately a 45 hour power reserve when fully wound.

I do not know how to wind up my watch, while a swing to a later no.Please answer me.Model hours a Seiko Kinetic 5M62-0B40.Thank you

This watch operates on a capacitor which is charged by movement. It does not wind, but it has a weight that charges the capacitor by motion.

Take the watch in hand by placing your fingers under the caseback and your thumb on the crystal. Use a horizontal motion (landscape) to move the watch back and forth quickly approximately one foot left and right. You should feel the internal weight move.

Do this for at least five minutes. If the watch does not start to operate (the second hand does not move at one second increments) then either the capacitor must be replaced, or the movement is defective.

You may send the watch directly to Seiko for service, or I would strongly suggest visiting your local Certified Master Horologist for what is usually a free assessment and estimate of the repair.

If you are following the above directions, you have done nothing wrong, but the movement or capacitor needs to be replaced.

If you have just purchased this watch and the instructions do not resolve your situation, I would promptly return it and exchange it, as the model may have been sitting for a while, and have a bad capacitor.

SEIKO KINETIC SQ 50 HAVE USE MY WATCH FOR 14 YRS

It is unlikely that the capacitor will have any charge on it so you should shake it gently to charge it up. You certainly can't do any harm by charging it, even if the capacitor did have any charge.

On my sports 50 it stops if it is off of my wrist for 14 hours . Also I dont know how to change the day sign to english

This is obviously unsatisfactory and I can understand your problem. Even spring driven automatic watches will run for 2 - 3 days when not worn.

Your watch can either be charged by use (i.e. wearing it) or by winding the crown wheel, although there seem to be a variety on kinetic watches and it is not clear if all of them can be wound by hand (mine can't but it goes to sleep after two days and can stay in this mode for 3 months and re-starts when it is worn!)

For a fully description of the kinetic operation go to http://www.seikowatches.com/technology/kinetic/kinetic_dd.html and there you will will see a choice of kinetic watches.

You can also access the instruction manual list to check out how your watch is intended to operate. Some watches indicate days in two languages (as yours appears to do) and you can select the correct day by pulling the crown wheel to the middle position where you generally change the date by rotating it forward and the day by turning it backward. When turning it backward, you should see and alternative day and you should stop at this position. The watch will continue with the same language after this.
If this does not work, then you should be able to find out the day sign after reading the instructions.

If your watch is new and after reading all the literature you still cannot sort out how to make your watch run for a longer period, then contact the maker who should be able to help.

Good luck!

My watch is not moving . I want to know do I need to change the battery or it is self wind? ref. 384858.Thanks

Its easy to tell if its battery operated or self wind. Turn the crown (where you set the time) forward. Self wind watches will click as you turn the crown. If its battery operated then you will hear no clicks. Some watches have a screw down crown so if the crown wont turn forward then try turning back. Some watches have a capacitor that needs to be charged! Seiko Kinetics are charged by movement like an older automatic. Citizens are charged by light!

Good luck!

I have not worn my SEIKO kinetic wrist watch for a

Here is the information from the website. The link to the manual is provided below. HOW TO CHARGE AND START THE WATCH Swing the watch from side to side approximately 50 times. * Before swinging the watch, check and remember where the minute hand is so that you can tell if the start-up indicator has worked or not. First, check that the crown is at the normal position. * If the crown is pulled out and the watch is swung, the start-up indicator will not work even if the watch starts operating. * Swing rhythmically at a rate of twice a second. * No additional benefit is obtained by swinging the watch more quickly or with greater vigor. * When the watch is swung, the oscillating weight in the generating system rotates to drive the mechanism. As it rotates, it gives out a sound, which is not a malfunction. 1 2 The minute hand moves quickly and stops as the watch starts operating. (Start-up indicator) Then, it will move at 20-second intervals. 3 After checking that the minute hand has done this, pull out the crown to set the time. 4 After pushing back the crown in to the normal position, swing the watch further approximately 350 times to reserve one day of power, and then, put the watch on your wrist. http://www.seikowatches.com/support/ib/pdf/1m20_e.pdf Good luck, Techjoel
