SOURCE: canon image class mf5750 legal size paper

Hi ...

If you wish to print using a paper size which is different from the normal one A4, you need to specify the same to the printer else it will not recognize or will not accept the paper ...

Below are the steps that you can follow to:
1) Specify paper size
2) Specify paper type ..

Specifying the Paper Size At the factory, the paper size has already been set to [LTR]. Normally, you can make copies in this setting. When making copies on other sizes of paper, you need to specify the paper size according to the following.

  1. Press <Menu>.

  2. Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select [COMMON SETTINGS], then press <Set>.
  3. Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select [PAPER SETTINGS], then press <Set>.

  4. Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select [PAPER SIZE], then press <Set>.

  5. Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select the appropriate paper size (LTR, LGL, EXECUTIV, A4, B5, ENVELOPE, or FREE SIZE), then press <Set>.

black_dot.gif When [ENVELOPE] is selected: white_square.gif Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select the type of envelopes (COM10, MONARCH, DL, or ISO-C5), then press <Set>.
black_dot.gif When [FREE SIZE] is selected: white_square.gif Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select [VERTICAL SIZE] or [HORIZONTAL SIZE], then press <Set>. white_square.gif Use the numeric keys, or press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to specify vertical and horizontal sizes of the paper in millimeters (mm).
Available range in [VERTICAL SIZE]: 127 mm to 356 mm (5" to 14")
Available range in [HORIZONTAL SIZE]: 76 mm to 216 mm (3" to 8 1/2") white_square.gif Press <Set>. Repeat the steps above to specify both vertical and horizontal sizes of the paper.

  6. Press <Stop/Reset> to return to the standby display.

Specifying the Paper Type [PLAIN PAPER] is selected as the default paper type. When making copies on paper other than plain paper, you can specify the paper type according to the following. Specifying the paper type can prevent poor copy quality, or the printout not being printed correctly.

  1. Press <Menu>.

  2. Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select [COMMON SETTINGS], then press <Set>.

  3. Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select [PAPER SETTINGS], then press <Set>.

  4. Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select [PAPER TYPE], then press <Set>.

  5. Press <la.gif> or <ra.gif> to select the appropriate paper type, then press <Set>.
    paper_settings_2_paper_type.gif

You can select from the following paper types: - Plain paper (17 lb to 24 lb (64 g/m2 to 90 g/m2 )): [PLAIN PAPER] - Heavy paper (25 lb to 34 lb (91 g/m2 to 128 g/m2 )): [HEAVY PAPER], [HEAVY PAPER H]*1 - Transparency: [TRANSPARENCY] - Label*2 : [HEAVY PAPER], [HEAVY PAPER H]*1 - Envelope: [HEAVY PAPER], [HEAVY PAPER H]*1*1 If print fixing is not sufficient when printed with [HEAVY PAPER] selected, select [HEAVY PAPER H].
*2 A label that can be loaded in the cassette is a standard type (label standard card) only.

  6. Press <Stop/Reset> to return to the standby display.
Please vote if this helps ... Cheers :)

Internal Components 2
Subject:
Prevention of blank image (modifying the shape of the laser shutter and applying grease to the laser shutter arm)
Detail:
<Symptom>
Since the laser shutter [1] is not opened when the toner cartridge is inserted into the machine, a blank image is output in
some cases.
[1] Laser shutter
[2] Laser shutter arm
<Cause>
When the toner cartridge is inserted, the laser shutter arm [2] pushes down on the laser shutter [1]. In case that the arm has
a scratch on its sliding surface, however, it is caught in the area [3] where the arm comes into contact with the shutter,
preventing the shutter from being opened.

[B] View of the opened laser shutter [2] Laser shutter arm
[3] Area where the arm is caught
<Factory measures>
a. Modifying the shape of the laser shutter
Modify the shape of the laser shutter so as to prevent the shutter from being caught when the laser shutter arm pushes it
(A turnback is added to the edge of the area that contacts the laser shutter arm).
P-3 Laser shutter [A] Old type
[B] New type
b. Applying grease to the laser shutter arm
To decrease the sliding resistance of the contacting surface (P-2 [3]) of the laser shutter arm and laser shutter, apply grease
to the laser shutter arm.
P-4 Laser shutter arm [1] Grease application area
MF6500-014 Rev. 3
(3/4)
c. Changing the shape of the laser shutter arm and applying grease to it.
To decrease the sliding resistance of the contacting surface of the laser shutter arm and laser shutter, change the shape of
the laser shutter arm. Additionally, apply grease to the arm.
P-5 Laser shutter arm [1] View of the rib in the new position
[A] Old type [2] View of the new shape of rib
[B] New type [3] View of the arm from which the rib is removed
d. Discontinuing application of grease to the laser shutter arm.
It was confirmed that the new shape of the laser shutter and laser shutter arm do not need lubrication by grease for normal
operation. From this, application of grease is discontinued.
Service Work:
When the foregoing symptom occurs, replace the laser shutter with the new type. In addition, remove the laser shutter arm
and apply a rice-grain sized amount of grease (PERMALUB G No. 2); about 30mg) evenly to the area [1] shown in P-4.
As for a machine having one of the serial numbers listed in “Affected Machines” below as “machines for which the shape
change of the laser shutter is carried out”, only application of grease is required: there is no need to replace the laser
shutter arm because the new type shutter has already been mounted onto them.
When replacing with the new type of laser shutter arm, there is no need to apply grease to it.

Canon Image class mf4412 error code e202-0002

This error means you scanner is not going back to starting position which is the left side of the glas. Open your scanner and clean & lubricate rail, it might also be off alignment try to gentle move it back to starting position. If you still get the error once swithed on then your sensor might be broke
