Right color balance standard print setting, but wrong in high rez

When I print in the basic factory "standard" setting the color balance is fine. As soon as I set to a glossy paper and a higher detail the colors suddenly print out muddy and way off color balance. If there is text it still comes out the right color, but any background image is very bad and purplish.
I have reinstalled the driver, reset the printers so as to wipe the list of customized settings I had compiled over time, but to no avail.
Anyone have a clue as to what is going haywire here?

I still have this ongoing problem so if anyone can share the solution I would be grateful, and it would prevent me from throwing the i9100 out the window.

Replacing a FINE Cartridge on photo printer Prixma IP 6210D

If there is no improvement with the quality of printing following such maintenance as print head
cleaning, a FINE Cartridge is probably empty. Replace the empty FINE Cartridge with a new one.
When replacing a FINE Cartridge, check the model number very carefully.
The printer will not print properly if a wrong FINE Cartridge is used, or installed wrong.
Replacing a FINE Cartridge
When a FINE Cartridge runs out of ink, replace them using the following steps.
1 Ensure that the printer is on.
2 Open the card slot cover first and then open the front cover.
The FINE Cartridge holder moves to the left.
3 Remove the empty FINE Cartridge.
Color: CL-51 [High Yield] Photo: CL-52
The standard Color FINE Cartridge (CL-41) can be installed as option.
-Handle the FINE Cartridge carefully to avoid staining clothing or the
surrounding area.
-Discard the empty FINE Cartridge according to the local laws and
regulations.

My Canon MP830 prints only colors, not blacks?

have you checked the ink levels? sometimes the black runs out before other colors because it is used more commonly.
it could be that the device is unable to detect that it has no black ink and therefore will not notify you that it has run out.
i suggest trying a replacement ink and seeing if that solves the problem, if not, then there is a problem with the hardware of the printer.

It seems like the white balance on my TV is wrong - colors are a sort of not realistic and even when I turn the color off there;s still some red/purple colors on the picture. I tried to adjust picture,...

Hello mvadima11,
Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!
To answer your question: The white balance isn't the issue on this set, in my opinion.I would be more inclined to believe that someone had placed a speaker or large magnet too close to your television. If you have speakers right next to the set, move them away. If someone set a magnet on the set sometime recently, you will have to rebalance the tube.
To try rebalance of the tube, find the largest magnet you can find. Then starting from the outside edge of the tube, go in clock-wise circles, slowly, all the way to the center of the television. Once you have arched the center, pull slowly, straight out. Now turn your color back up to normal. This should fix your issue.
Have a great day!

A list and defintion of the file types raw b, raw, fine, norm and basic

The D3000 can store still images in two different formats. JPEG is a standard format, recognized by just about every image viewer and image manipulation program in the world. RAW is actually NEF (Nikon Electronic Format), a Nikon-proprietary format which incorporates almost all of the data captured by the sensor, without the processing of JPEG. JPEG files have the color balance, sharpening, contrast, and all the other camera settings done on the picture. With RAW files, you can change any or all of them and produce new JPEGs. In this respect the RAW file is similar to the original negative you get from processed film, while the JPEG file is like the final print. RAW files need special software for viewing and editing.

All JPEG files are compressed to save space. FINE, NORM, and BASIC represent different levels of compression. FINE does the least compression and takes up the most space, BASIC does the most compression and takes up the least space. Compression always loses some quality, so in general the less the compression the better the quality.

RAW+B simply stores each of your pictures as a RAW file and a BASIC JPEG file.

Having said all that, you should use only RAW or FINE settings. You didn't buy a SLR only to throw away picture quality, did you?

I have a Lexmark X8350 printer. The factory settings are for full color and High quality printing. For every day stuff I would like to save some expensive ink and use the Quick Print and printing color...

This can differ b/n manufacturer and models, but basically what you have to do is get in to the printer properties window. Go to File>Print. In the box that pops up, make sure your printer is selected and click the "properties" window. THere is usually a tab that says "Printing Preferences", but like I said, this can vary. Just go thru all tabs and if you are looking to print in black, look for an entry that says "Print in grey scale" or "Economy Print". That should resolve your issue. Be sure to click OK in the box when you're done :O)
