Timex Model M515Incorrect readings when using a TIMEX Heart Rate Monitor - despite changing bateries twice and cleaning the electrodes on chest strap.Wore another HRM (simultaneously)to compare and TIMEX is off and drifting / jumping by several tens of beats - sometimes just "maxes" out at heart rate of 240 and gets "stuck @ 240. The watch functions just fine, the timers, stopwatch etc is OK. Issue is just with Heart rate monitor portion. This is my best HRM and I hate to just leave it in the drawer!

I´m experienced the same problem of incorrect readings after a long time without use. I cleaned the rubber parts of the chest strap with soap and water, than I use some silicone grease or other silicon liquid to keep the rubber hydrated. Make a careful cleaning in the contact area between the rubber and the plastic parts, the fissure in these area use to be full of "sweat dust".

I have a Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor model EP9TMXM515. It is almost two years old and I have replaced the battery and followed the manual (hit the reset button) and the rsults are exactly as decribed on the problem posted by rakesh_kapoo's on December 24th of 2008. Seems changing the battery is not the fix and my watch works perfectly as well.
My heart rate monitor maxes out at 240BPM and stays there for a period of time, then corrects itself for some time and then goes back to 240BPM. Changed the battery in the monitor with no improvement. Has anyone gotten any solution from Timex?
Stuck at 240, same as the others - help!
