Recently acquired SZ 736 that was in storage for about a year. Unit worked before put in storage. Both compressors seem to be running, but getting hot (about 170 F, measured with a non contact thermometer) Condenser fan not running. Freezer and refer temps get to about 50F in a 70F room. Freezer only a few degrees cooler than refer. How do I access condenser fan to work on it?
You will need to remove the cover around the condenser fan motor then remove the screws holding it down to the base. Remove the wiring from the junction box and away you go. Do not run the unit without a working condenser fan motor, you run the chance of causing yourself many other problems. With a new fan motor the unit should run fine unless there is waxing in the cap tube from overheating. Good luck
Testimonial: "Thanks, you were correct. The unit worked great after the fan was replaced. Good going Colin! Thank you. "
SOURCE: overheating condensors
Bad compressor. Anytime a compressor on anything gets to hot to touch that is a sign that the piston is applying to much pressure to work which in return causes the compressor to go bad if not caught right awya

Turn the refrigerator off for a minute to reset the vaccum condenser light.

You may be able to just lubricate your condenser fan. There is a lubricant called "Zoom Spout" that is a paraffin based oil that you should use to do the lubrication. The oil is available at most appliance parts sources and usually at the Sears parts service counter. It is less than $3.00. You need to oil then wipe the armature shaft clean by gently tugging on the fan to lift it and wipe again and then re-oil the shaft front and rear of the condenser fan motor. The fan bearings get dirty and cause the fan to run slow. Any other type of oil will work for 30 days or less and then it will start running slow again. Just use the correct lubricating oil the first time and save yourself some money and time in the future.
Some of the condenser fan motors you can remove the bearing mounting hardware and slide the bearing up on the fan motor shaft to allow for cleaning the gunk off of the shaft that is causing the bearing drag. If you do take it apart note the bearing mount positions BEFORE you take them apart. I usually scribe one side of each bearing mount in a different place so that you do not install them backward.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Remember (Zoom-Spout oiler and there is a tube that pulls out of the oiler for use. Do not pull it out all the way!)
SOURCE: sub zero 532. freezer works fine --0 degrees.
check the fan that runs between the freezer and the fridge --check fan for ice blockage -debris-or damage / clean or clear blockage --if not running test wiring and connections as well as motor /repair or replace //also check fan damper is not frozen or blocked its flap that opens and closes for air to flow //----ur fridge side is cooled from the the freezer side the cold air is blown in from the freezer if fan or damper is not working correctly than fridge is usually warm and freezer is working properly
