Maybe your LCD has a problem or the flexi-wire have the problem, if turn on the unit then try to call someone, if there is a rely it means that the screen has a problem. so it may be the LCD or the flexi-wire connecting the LCD.

Your phone sounds to be in a boot loop. Try a factory data reset. You can Google your phones make and model for info on reset as each device varies

Compaq presario V5000 laptop blank screen

Does the hard drive light blink like there is activity? It sounds like your laptop is not posting. Unfortunately on a laptop if it fails to post it is likely the motherboard..

I would verify first that you Cannot get the external monitor to work by using the function + Keys on your keyboard to enable the secondary display (Usually something like FN+F4) FN being the key on the lower left of your keyboard between ctrl and alt typically..

If you cannot get it to display, Try an ESD Discharge.. Basically unplug the power brick from the laptop, Remove the battery and try turning it on.. While trying to turn it on contact your fingers on the metal prongs that protrude from the where the battery was on the laptop. This will discharge any built up static electricity from the laptop. Try hooking it all back up and booting.. Good luck

Brand new laptop received for christmas. Screen is now black lights are on the keyboard and the hp is lighted on front.. please help how do i get my screen on?

Do you get anything on the screen before it loads windows? Did you before? If so then try the following:

Look at the function keys for the symbol that toggles display from laptop display to external monitor. On my keyboard it is F5 but it could be different on yours. Hold the Function key down then press the correct function key , ie F5 on your keyboard. You may have accidently hit the keys or tabs on the screen if your laptop has that feature. (after youre booted into windows).

If you see nothing at all when you turn on the machine --

Look at the display from the side to see if there's any light behind it. If there isn't your backlight could be out.

Plug in an external monitor. Does it get a picture? If not it could be the video card or the ram. It could also be the video driver if you get no display after booting into windows but see the logo at bootup.

Does not boot up, fans start, internet plugs light, clicks on and off.....seems this is a common problem for these machines, what is the fix?

Instructions
  1. When you press the Power button to start the boot process, the LED lights glow while the computer verifies that there is sufficient electrical power to activate the hardware.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the LED lights on the computer do not glow or the LEDs blink briefly and then stop. There is no sound of the fan or hard drive spinning, and the screen remains blank. The computer will not start if there is insufficient battery or AC adapter power.
  2. The BIOS queries various hardware components used for the startup boot process.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the LEDs glow but there is no fan or hard drive sound. The LEDs may glow briefly and then go out.

    Or

The LED lights blink, stop, and then blink a second or third time, but there is no sound from the computer and the screen remains blank. The sequence of the blinking lights indicates a specific error code.

    Or

A series of beeping tones is heard. The sequence of beeping tones indicate a specific error code.

If a hardware component has recently been replaced, or if the PC has been jarred or shaken, there may be a loose connection to the memory chips or hard drive which prevents the computer from starting.
  3. The BIOS loads the basic input (keyboard) and output (advanced LEDs / display screen / boot drives) devices into memory.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the LEDs glow, the fan or hard drive sounds, are heard, but then the boot process stops and a black screen - with an error message - displays.

The boot check has detected a communication error or conflict with a hardware component that must be corrected.
  4. The BIOS loads the Windows operating system and starts the services that allow low-level control of all of the background operations.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the LEDs glow, the fan or hard drive sounds, are heard, the HP or Compaq Logo displays on a black screen, but then the boot process stops and a blue screen - with an error message - displays.

The boot check has detected a hardware driver error or a software conflict that must be corrected.
  5. Control is transferred to the Windows loader to initiate the display of the advanced settings in the Windows environment.

The Windows logo displays during this step.

Effect & Solution: When you press the power button, the computer performs all the steps in the boot process, but after the Windows Logo displays, the moving Windows progress bar or the rotating cursor stops moving and the boot process stops.

An error message may display on a screen with the Windows logo. In some instances, there is no specific error message.

    Or

A black screen appears and the computer attempts to restart.

The Windows self-check has detected a software conflict that must be corrected.

IBM T40 Laptop screen goes black, will not come back

First of all, you have to check whether you can see video signal with surrounding light tilting the screen.
If you can see dim image, all you have to do is replace back-light inverter or fix it. Usually, the fuse is open and you can connect it by simple soldering.
If you can't see dim image, it is another problems.
Give it a try.
