When I put a new 35mm roll of film into the Eos Rebel 2000 the film loads, the counter goes up to 24 as the film is unrolled then the camera rewinds the entire roll of film back into to film cartridge.
Hm. Well, the way this camera works is actually very clever. When you first load a film into it, it winds the entire film out of the cassette and into the camer. As each shot is taken, the film is rewound back into the film cassette. The advantage of this is that if the back of the camera is accidentally opened, the shots which have already been taken are already safely back in the film cassette and will not be damaged by the light ingress. However, your camera is behaving strangely. I would check that the electrical contacts where the film cassette goes in are clean. You can clean them using a cotton bud moistened with methylated spirits.

I have the same problem with my Canon Rebel T2. I load a roll of film it advances the film to the end of the roll clicks two shots then rewinds the film back into the roll.
Yep Same problem though it is with a Canon T2. It pulls the film out snaps two pictures then rolls the fill back into the canister. I think it is suppose to wait for you to shoot pictures then pull the film back into the canister after each shot....
did antone suss out why?
