If you have a firewall and anti-virus, there's no reason not to show your IP address. Unless you use a proxy, if you're on the internet, your IP address can be seen. Any website you go to can see your IP address. But as I said, with firewall and anti-virus, nothing at all can be done.

To hide your IP address, you can use a proxy. If you use firefox, take a look at this link.

http://technicalbliss.blogspot.com/2007/04/how-to-use-free-proxy-with-firefox.html

Using proxies hides your real IP address.

Formspring on facebook says im not aloud an account but i dont understand i havent done anything wrong what do i do

Probably someone hacked your account and did something they shouldn't have. Open a new email address then a new facebook account with the new address (oh yeah clear all of your temp internet files and cookies first, especially 3rd party tracking cookies), then just change a detail or two like day you were born (e.g. 19th to 20th), slightly different address. Then use the strictest privacy settings, only friends. No friends of friends. use a good password and enter it with your on screen keyboard (in accessories) do a virus scan with malwarebytes available here; www.malwarebytes.org just get the free version, save to desktop (will show up as MBAM.exe). Rename MBAM.exe to winlogon.exe install and update run full scan. A good free program for deleting cookies and temp files (plus has tons of other great tools) is Advanced System Care available here:
http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html
excellent little program. Also use a password at least 12 characters long and salt it. Salting (ex. thi_spassw_ordisbe_tter). Using the underscore Or something else to break up a word or words into nonsensical parts to thwart a brute force password cracker.Write your password and other info down and hide it somewhere. Or type it on a notepad and save it to a usb stick (not your pc), and just copy and paste (that or onscreen keyboard will help beat a key logger) Don't use things like your pets name or birthdays etc.
Hope this helps and good luck.
If this helps you resolve your problem, please
consider giving me a good rating and a quick
thanks or good job.It will help me as well.
Thank you.

My friend is at my house and wants to connect his laptop to my network but mine is prtected and i dont know how to turn off the privacy to let him in

Have your friend right click the wireless icon and open the "view available wireless network" on their machine.
(assuming they are using windows wireless, if not there will be an icon in the system tray showing the wireless).
The window that opens will list all available networks.
Choose your network and then click on "connect"
The next window will ask for your "key" (which you should know).
If all is successful, it will "acquire an ip address" and then you will be connected.

How to connect a laptop having vista home basic with a xp desktop

Be advised that,
it makes not different to connect one PC/Laptop to another one via LAN because when you connect your system in lan networking you system will be automatically detected if LAN has been set up through a server.
And if not you need to do manually by assigning ID address on bot PC/Laptop.
For that,
first assign an IP address in either Laptop or desktop (IP address must be same category)
ex.
192.168.1.231 (first one)
and second one should be
192.168.1.here you can up (instead of 231) any number excep 0 but make sure not confliction between other system. means not duplication IP address on same LAN.
once you ae done with IP assigning
Go to
Star>Run>command and hit enter
once you see command prompt then
type there:
ipconfig and hit enter (it shows your ip address) if you wanna have more info then type ipconfig/all
once you are done with this then
you need to ping to your next PC.
for that
type in
ping 192.168.1.231 (means you need to type another PC's IP address here)
and hit etner
if you see like on image
then you are good to go.

Net connection

Hi there,

You can only use one connectionat the time!
Why?
Mahanagar telephone nlgam ltd. deliver anIP address,
Airtel deliver another IP address.

An IP address (ex. 88.135.232.12) is computer address, like you address (ex. 1234 flood st. Sidney NSW, Australia).

And like you and your addresses are two places intown, you can only bee at one address at the time.
And – then it is not the exact truth, but the other solutiondemands some expensive hardware for “bundling” the two connections.
