Trouble with Pentax MZ 60 camera.

I was told before buying this camera body that it would work with the K mount lenses off my K 1000 and P 30. The lenses will mount up, but as soon as they are connected the camera ceases to function totally. Any idea what is happening? Thanks so much from Barry, Waco, Texas

    Thanks so much for the reply. I found that the camera works perfectly with NO lens attached. I then found a website that claims that this camera will only work with auto focus lenses, whether set for manual or auto focus use. Guess I'll have to find an auto focus lens that will work, and do my research before I buy next time! Thanks again, Barry

yes they will, I have a 70-300 myself.

As a rule, ANY k-mount lens will work on any of the new pentax cameras to some extent.

At any rate you can shoot some very nice pic with even the oldest lenses. Manually ofcourse.

With an adapter you can even use m42 screw lenses too.

The hard part will be getting a T-mount for the old Pentax screw mount. If you already have one, you should have no trouble. It won't even matter which one you buy, since you'll be removing the mount that comes with it and using the old Pentax screw instead.

If you don't have a T-mount, then you're going to have to hunt for one. You don't want to buy anything that's marked "for Pentax", since anything current will be the Pentax-K bayonet mount, not the old Pentax screw mount.

Hi,

You can try buying a Pentax SLR. But you most probably will need a converter to attach the lens.(That is if the lens will even work at all on the new body).

If u used to have a Pentax camera, i would recommend you buying a Pentax DSLR, because Pentax film lenses still works on Pentax DSLR. I still use some of my prime lenses on my K10D.

pentax error codes are in the repair manual for camera repair technicians. the camera needs repaired.take or send your camera to a camera repair shop for an estimate.

any good camera store or repair shop should have a 2X tele converter for MZ-60, new or used. i would try e-bay also.

You need to track down a 2x teleconverter that has a Pentax A mount for it to work correctly on the moun t of your camera.

I believe Adorama has one here:
