Post Storm Problem

Good Morning, I have a Sony XBR Triniton, about 7 years old. We had an electrical storm last night and the power went off and on several times. This morning the TV won't come on, just the standby light flickers. Any Hope?

Sony Trinitron won't power up

if the power went out all that may be bad is the fuse; follow the power cord inside the set and it will take you right to the glass fuse; these sets also had problems where the power supply in them fails--several parts get killed instantly--if this is the case---good advice would be to look for a new tv.

Electrical storm last night. Now no power on

you need a power supply. That is where the fuses are and you should not replace them.
The Power Supply should be replaced.

Storm last night, now Wii won't power up

Unplug everything! There is a "breaker" in the power supply and it may need to be reset. Just unplug all cables from the TV and outlets. Let it sit for a couple hours then plug everything back in and it should work fine. If not then the power supply has shorted out due to a strong power surge. You can claim it under your home owners insurance or call Nintendo and try to get it replaced. Thanks! Good luck and happy gaming!!

TV will not come on.

The 7 blinks indicate a high voltage shutdown (high voltage exceeded 33,000V). This is usually caused by a defective regulator. Could you please post the exact model number (KVxxx) and I'll look up the part you will likely need?

Thanks,
Dan

No Power to my TV after power outage

A lot of times its simply a fuse that goes out. Either way someone is going to have to open it up and inspect the fuses first. It 's a fairly inexpensive service call.

Hopefully the fuse took the hit from the storm.
