My printer won't print because the cartridge cradle can't move.

when the printer is on can you grab the cradle and pull it out of where it is stuck because if you do that then you might free up the cradle jam

The print cartridge cradle cannot move - hp 5652 after slight service

This error means that some mechanical parts of your printer is in trouble. This could be some of the causes:

1. The print head is stuck somewhere or is unable to move because of some blockage in the printer's bay.
2. If you are using a Continuous Ink System, then the tubes might have blocked the print heads from moving.

To resolve, turn OFF your printer. Remove such blockage then turn the printer back ON.

Will not print

Try moving the cartridges with the power cord unplugged. Your problem sounds fatal.

The print cartridge cradle cannot move.

"The print cartridge cradle cannot move."
I fixed this problem by disconnecting the power cord from the power-strip and connecting it directly into the wall. My printer was not getting enough voltage from the power-strip. I hope this helps.

The cradle is stuck

Fixed it myself...found this link:

It would print the Tap Test as instructed in this illustration....but then wouldn't move to print anything else. So redid the Tap Test several times....then I lifted the lid while printing a test page so the cartridge was in the center and I could get ahold of it to slide it....left the printer ON, but unplugged the power cable...and then I was able to move the cartridge back and forth. I then took QTips with Windex on them and cleaned the silver bar the cartridge moves on. Got a lot of ink off of it.
A couple more test prints...and sliding the cartridge......and it is finally running again.

Print cartridge cradle is stuck ican't find where it is jammed

This might help . . . Mine finished printing one doc & then made a terrible noise & sent a message to my screen that "print cartridge cradle is stuck." When i opened door, i could see it was stuck off to the left side so left cartridge was obscured. I could not get it to budge, although i kept turning it off, gently pushing & turning it back on. Finally, i got my hand inside & determined that the little door to the left-side cartridge had popped open & was causing it to remain stuck. After some struggles (turn off printer first!) i was able to maneuver it around & close it tight. Now, all is well . . .

Mechanism Error - Print Cradle won't move! - HP 5650

This "plastic strip" is called the "carriage encoder strip". This strip dictates the timing of the carriage assembly. If the end slots aren't broken, you can re-attach it. Otherwise, you'll need to replace it. They are about $10.

HP PhotoSmart 7960 InkJet Printer

Make sure the cover that holds the ink cartridge in place is completely closed down on the cartridge. Also make sure there is not a pencil or something under the cover where the ink is , obstructing the print head
