  • Anonymous Aug 24, 2013

Actually it is not hard to fix this this problem What you will need to fix it is : 1- A 2gig flashdrive (I used a 2g and it worked, not sure if any other size works) First visit this link https://www.dropbox.com/s/t88gryfudq3741... (Thats my dropbox which contains the Windows vista Iso DO NOT EXTRACT IT , just put it on your desktop and leave it there. 2-Visit this link and download and download the usb installer(On the bottom of the page it will mark Download uii in a blue box) , this will turn your flashdrive into a bootable flash drivehttp://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-u... 3-Run the program and it should look like thishttp://www.flickr.com/photos/100773530@N06/ (Make sure you select Windows Vista Installer and note that this will not reset anything on your victim Computer ) 4-Now in the select your iso option in the program select the iso which you downloaded from my dropbox by selecting browse AGAIN DO NOT EXTRACT 5-Now put your flashdrive in your computer and select the drive And when everything is done it should look like thishttp://www.flickr.com/photos/100773530@N06/ 6-Now select create and note that THIS WILL FORMAT YOUR FLASHDRIVE\ 7-Now you have a bootable flashdrive 8-Now insert your flashdrive into yoor victim computer and go into your Bios and set your usb as your first boot device by moving it first in the order (If you dont know how to do this visit this link) -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8VZ95_XF... 9-Now restart your computer and it should mark Windows is Loading files on bottom of the screen Just leave your victim computer like this for about 10 - 15 minutes and it should just have a blank screen without the user accounts. 10-Restart your computer by pressing the button on the Tower and select Last known Good Configiration DO NOT TAKE OUT YOUR FLASHDRIVE and your computer will start normally 11-Take out your flashdrive and restart computer again and you are good to go When this works please vote thats all i ask Hope I helped you

I might advise you reformat the operating system of the computer, or check the peripheral devices for this computer if properly connected? You got a fatal error it means that there is something that is not reading by the memory of the computer.

System will not boot up says windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix problem insert installation disk and restart however there is no disk or disk drive....

Sometimes updates can cause problems with the OS and thus using the Repair potion of the Operating System Disc is necessary. You may have re-install the operating system again. The problem, if you did not back up the drive, you will loose all data and programs.

When i start my VGN-P23G it apear the message "windows error Recovery" and "windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause." what can i do to fix the problem?

Insert the cd of the OS you've installed and choose recovery to recover from it. If it doesn't solve the problem, then format the drive in which your corrupted OS is and then again install the whole OS.

Do you allow it to 'Repair' the Windows Install? - If not try that - if still having a boot failure - then you will need an OE Windows disk to fix Windows.

Hello,
It sounds to me like the harddrive has errors on it. First, I would try completely reinstalling windows with the windows disk. If that does not solve the problem there are several pieces of software that are much stronger harddrive repair solutions than the built in Windows one. Try this one, it is free for 10 days. You will need another computer (friend's computer?) to download and burn this software onto a CD, then put the CD in your computer and boot to it by pressing any key when it asks you to.

I haven't had a recent hardware or software change but when I turn on my Dell Inspiron 1521 laptop I get a black screen with the following message: Windows Boot Manager Windows failed to start. A...

boot from an applicable boot disk & use fixmbr to repair the boot sector,

OR have you tried safe mode or last good....( you need to press F8 seconds after the PC is turned on)

Windows failed to start.

You're getting that error message because the boot files on your hard drive (the required inaccessible device) are corrupted.

When first booting, press F8 repeatedly. Will the computer let you go into safe mode? If not, without the installation cd, you're kinda between a rock and a hard place. However, you can download a (free) vista recovery disk (repair only) from the people at easyBCD:
http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/EBCD/Recovering+the+Vista+Bootloader+from+the+DVD

Just follow the directions to do a start up repair.
If that works, by all means, make yourself a recovery cd before doing anything else.
