Did you use a remanufactured ink cart.?

  • Anonymous Sep 05, 2012

It was a "Trademark Kodak" box and the paper and cartridge were sealed. considering the repair I made to the "Guide", could there be an adjustment needed, though I didn't see or notice a way to adjust it. Also, my "Error Light" is a steady amber, not flashing!

SOURCE: USELESS! I guess the life of an ESP 3 is up to a

Regarding the empty ink cartridges, ink is a lubricant for the print heads. Some color ink is used even if you only print in black or viceversa. If you printed with a color missing, you could destroy that print head from the friction of running without ink to lubricate it. That's why most printers won't allow you to print with a color missing even if you aren't using it.
If you allow a color to go empty, the residual ink in the head could clog and become permanently blocked. You would never be able to print that color again. So always replace ink cartridges as soon as they are empty.

Regarding the printer not being able to detect the size of the paper, you probably need a firmware update. Here is the support information from Kodak website.

And I have to agree with you, printers don't have a very long life cycle, but you should get at least 2 years out of it! Good luck!

Each cartridge having printing life, as long as cartridge health condition is good it won't gives any trouble. Subjected series printer having mono & colour cartridges,1. Remove both cartridge from the printer 2. Switch on & wait till message appears for insert the cartridges..3. Insert mono(Black) cartridge, close the door & wait till message appears on screen. If message appears same as cartridge error mean that mono cartridge is faulty replace it, if message appears like insert another cartridge, it's confirmed that colour cartridge faulty.. Replace it..

Lexmark x5470 the machine received faxes but does not print them. saying "fax jobs in memory"... how do i print them?!?!

It could be because one of your cartridges has low ink level, thus printer is not able to continue printing the fax message. Open the printer cover and replace your cartridges (without navigating away from the fax mode). Once cartridge/s has been replaced, just hit the Check mark to print the fax message.

I have a pixma ip6700 printer that gave me an error code of 6500 when i was putting in an ink cartridge. I believe I have the ink problem fix but i can't get rid of the message. unpluging it over night...

Please try the old cartridge and see if you get the same problem
If you don't then the new cartridge is defective and should be returned and exchanged for another
If it does give you the same problem please try the following
Remove all the ink cartridges from the machine
Then clean the contacts on the cartridges as well as inside the machine itself
Do this with a small amount of warm water on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab
If any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging replace them
Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 70 seconds
Plug it back it and wait for the insert cartridges message
Insert the cartridges and check to see if the problem is still there
If it is it means the print head has failed
In order to fix this the print head inside the printer needs to be replaced
The print head is the part of the printer that puts ink from the cartridges onto the page
Unfortunately this can sometimes cost more to replace then the machine itself
The print head has seperate nozzles for each cartridge so it can print black for example and the color print blank even if the print head has failed.

The printer light was flashing and error message told me that ink cartridges were empty - they have been replaced but it still wont print

Hello there...

I've found someone on the internet having similar problem as yours...

and I quote:
If the LED keeps blinking then the most likely cause is a failed print
cartridge (not simply empty), in this case what does the status monitor report?
It should tell you if one of the cartridges is giving trouble. You can try
cleaning the cartridge contacts in this case with a cloth dampened with water,
do not touch the printhead nozzles however, that will do no good and may do harm.

try cleaning the brown dotted circuit of the printer where you fit your cartridge .clean it gently and slowly with moist tissue and wait for a moment till the moistness get completely dried.and also check whether you are changing the proper cartridge which the message is indicating.check the proper number on the cartridge which you replaced. also try changing the both the cartridges sometimes this helps.also check whether the cartridge is inserted properly in the printer sometimes it is fitted loose in the printer so this happens.

thanks.

Replace color cartridge

Access your printer properties and try preforming a print head or printer cartidge clean and on the machine try the print cartridge aligniment procedure.
If after you try both of those I suspect there is an issue with the print head.
If that is the case an ink jet printer is not worth repairing.
