Make sure you're using an SD card, not a higher-capacity SDHC card. The GZ-MG21U works with SD cards, not with SDHC cards.

You might want to consider NOT using a driver. The best way to download videos and pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy videos and pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any video/photo cataloging program, such as Windows Movie Maker and Windows Photo Gallery.

you should not need drivers for xp pro if your using a video capture card or a usb connector but here is a sit to go to for help. http://camcorder.jvc.com/index.jsp if you don't know how to capture with your camera you can click on windows movie maker with your camera hooked up and you will be able to capture from the camera and edit with this program, also suggest you buy adobe premier pro expensive but good for videos.

unknow just means it dose not have a driver list for the device. go on their web paged for driver from the device web site. and install them from there.

Try renaming the extenstion from .mod to .avi or .mpg
