How to resolve Belkin N150 conflicting with Linksys WRT54G

My new Belkin N150 Wi-Fi Router immediately conflicts with my old Linksys WRT54G as soon as I plug the Belkin into the ethernet port. How is this occurring? How can I fix it? I've heard about setting a static IP for the Belkin.

Actually, I've now tried to hook up an access point (D-Link) but nothing will recognize the Ethernet port accept my Blu Ray. I've run a second line of Cat6 but still get no connection accept for the Blu Ray. I'm scratching my head.

Both the routers are having the same default IP addresses that's why they are conflicting.
Put only one router in the switch connected the a PC on the same LAN.
Open your browser and put the default IP address (like for most of the routers 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1), hit enter and give the login ID and password (in most of the cases, admin/password orv admin/admin), go t configuration> IP settings> Static IP Mode> Change the IP from 192.168.x.1 to 192.168.x.2 (or any other other number except 1 and <254).
Save and reboot.
Now enjoy both routers plugged in simultaneously in the same LAN. :)

SOURCE: Belkin N router and linksys ip cam

You need to connect the camera directly to your computer and have it manually assign an IP Address on your computer so you could access the camera on the first hand. After that you need to range the IP Address of the camera accordingly to the IP Address of your network.

try to upgrade the firmware of the router. that will help you.
For this you will need to connect the computer to the router. Do not upgrade the firmware of the router using the wireless computer.
You will need to download the new firmware from the manufacturer's web site. Then open the router set up page and upgrade the firmware of the router.

Ip conflict

Enable DHCP in the router and check all the connected devices after you login to the router page. You will find the name of ur printer enlisted in the router login page where all the ip address will be reflecting. Make sure ur WAN ip series is different from the DHCP pool which typically starts with 192.168.x.x.

WPS button

I have a WRT54G router and there is no WPS button.

This is a cut and paste from Cisco engineer:
Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS is a somewhat new feature on most routers. However, I believe that the WRT54g was release prior to this feature. The installation disc for your wireless adapter is trying to circumvent network discovery and the process of entering a wireless password by using the WPS feature. Without using the installation disc to setup the adapter should still be able to connect to your Wi-FI network. Only use the disc to install the drivers for your wireless card and the wireless access utility. After you have done this:
1.Open the wireless utility and you should see available networks
2.Select your Wi-Fi network
3.If the network is open (not password proctected) you should be connected immediately
4.If the network is secured (password protected) then you will prompted to enter your password or preshared key
5.After entering the key you should be granted access to the network

I am trying to connect to my wi-fi at home using linksys router model wrt54g. My wi-fi works for my home computer but it is not working for my ipad. Do I need to upgrade the software on my router in...

I can't say 100% for sure, but usually if the wi-fi works for a computer, it should work for an iPad. Therefore, I highly doubt you'd have to upgrade the router.

you have two routers in one network this could be the conflict why your network needs to be restart everyday, onece the routers are not used and goes Idle it will have the internet from the modem go idle as well and since you have 2 routers it will have issue on keeping the internet connection running one of your two routers is possibly having conflicts in running the internet conenction once Idle try running your network using one router and monitor if there would be any progress in the internet for your restaurant. also try setting you routers chanel to 11 since this will be a public network ^_^.

I have a wrt54g linksys wireless router that im trying to link up with my new laptop that is running windows 7. My start up disc that came with the router isnt formatted for my computer. what can i do?

You do not need a start up disk to make Windows 7 talk to this router. Just add a wireless network, and if you are broadcasting the SSID and remember your passphrase you are done.
Windows knows how to talk TCP/IP and Wi-fi without any disks - as long as it can support your ethernet or wi-fi adapter you are OK.
The start up disk for that router had documentation on it and some silly stuff, I've never bothered with it.

I have a new laptop and lost my password to wireless router

You can secure your wireless network wit WEP or WAP code.
For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.
http://192.168.0.1
or
http://192.168.1.1
For belkin router http://192.168.15.1
or
http://192.168.2.1

If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Click on wireless settings then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router.
Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Cannot get ipod touch to connect to wireless network

Many Wi-Fi issues can be resolved by doing the following:
Basic troubleshooting
  • Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again.
  • Verify that you are in range of your Wi-Fi router or base station.
  • Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and Cable/DSL modem are connected to power and turned on.
  • Check whether other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.

Lost the install CD

hi,
it should be an ip conflict.I believe you are using both routers at same time which can give same ip address (as both routers ip range is same).hence by disconnecting one router(from network/power) will make your ip conflict resolved.
secondly there is no need of linksys installation cd as it will do more harm than good.routers dont need any software to run where as network adapters need drivers.if you have any further doubts ,you can directly post it.
thank you

Loosing connection frequently

Your computer has an IP addy and your router has its own IP addy. Try uninstalling the router and its software, reboot, and reinstall everything, this may clear up the conflict. If not you will have to go into the router(via the internet) and reconfigure the router.
