I sent my camera to a repair center for samsung and they replaced the ccd at no charge and it fixed the problem. I have used it and all is working and playing the old tapes as well. Thanks for your help, but got the answer from a blog as well as the address to send the camera to. Have a blessed day.

try cleaning the tape path, especially the rubber pinch roller, with an alcohol swab....but how is the performance as a web-cam? (when connected to pc)? if same result, then problem is deeper, maybe CCD
