I need a power supply and battery for a Hitachi HPW-600ETM Tablet Computer. I have not been able to find neither a power supply. It uses 10v power and 7.4 battery.

Generally, any charger with the same power and voltage output will be the same. It's just that you need to find a charger with your laptop's plug.

CanI use power rated 19volts instead of original power supply 18.5volts

As you have found... half a volt at that amerage should be just fine...

If it helps, I just bought an aftermarket replacement of the correct voltage and amperage for my nx9010 from eBay for $15AU delivered. It'd probably help when it comes time to sell your laptop =-]

Lost power supply

We couldn't find the info regarding output/voltage. However, there is an online vendor offering replacement chargers/batteries for the T5500. Here is the link, look toward the bottom of the page for the chargers. http://www.csonline.net/crawford/motorola_talkabout_T5500.htm

My laptop wont turn on or charge

Let's rule out the charger.

Find a multi-meter and check the voltage. It should be listed on the power supply what the output is. For instance, I have Dell that outputs 19.5v.

You can find a multi-meter at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, etc. Just plug the red lead into the center of the end of the cable and the black one onto the metal 'barrel' surrounding the power supply 'jack'.

Your multi-meter should be set to 200v DC.

If your power supply is outputting near the output it should, your power supply is probably good and it is going to boil down to a bad DC input on the mainboard of the laptop.
