Turn off the Nintendo DS, and place it on the charger. Leave
the device for 45 minutes to allow it to gain a full charge, and then
power it back on. Weak Nintendo ds lite batteries may cause screen flicker.
2
Turn off the DS, and remove all game cartridges. Turn the system back on to launch the main menu.
3
Click the small sun icon to open the brightness menu. Adjust
the brightness level using your stylus. Turn it up to max to improve
back lighting.
4
Check that the Nintendo DS is open and in the locked position. It must be open to its default position to operate properly.
Hi the solution to your problem is

I repair nintendo ds lites in the uk
So can sort you out for a reasonable price
Last time I had this I had to change the motherboard, tried for hours to find the fault. motherboards are about £50 if you have to resort to it. Make sure you are buying an original nintendo and not a copy
Sorry, but this could get complicated. Somehow the cable inside the DS that links the LCD screen with the motherboard has been disconnected. This happened with me. You could buy a new LCD screen, (because there is a possibility that yours is cracked), but after you do this, you have to take the DS apart and install it. If I were you, I would buy a whole new DS (this is what I did).
Sorry!
Hope this helps!
Hi. this issue is normaly caused by bad screen (normaly top screen) or bad assembly in one of two screens, re insert carefully the flex cable again, if your screens are fine this must fix the issue
When you boot the Nintendo DS you can change the illumination settings in the main menu. One the main menu, you will find a sunny symbol in the lower left corner of the screen. Click on that and you should be able to change the level of illumination. If you are also wondering if you can change the brightness during game play, you can't. Games such as Mario 64 DS come with support for brightness change but otherwise you have to do it before game play.
Remove the game cartridge and try it again. During the boot sequence is when the DS tries to activate the port and check of it is going to load a game from there, or use the internal sequence and load the menu.
Hi, if the bottom screen briefly comes on with a white screen. There is a issue with the top screen, it is either the top screen itself or if there is damage to the hinge it will more than likely be the cheaper option the ribbon cable that threads though the hinge to the top screens PCB board.
Hi, my DS Lite turns on, the screen flashes white, and then it turns right back off.
