Tip: The max point reward for answering a question is 15.
Do you mean before the answerphone kicks in? If so, that time is usually set by your phone company and not on your phone ~ you might be able to adjust it if you have an online billing -> account -> settings.
What product would that be Ann as not product is listed in the question. I would suspect the answering machine settings is the place to look to increase the number of rings before the answering function kicks in. Maybe you could provide the make and model number to help us figure out a more specific answer
Contact your carrier's customer service. Ask them to set the maximum time before shunting the call to voicemail. They deal in time rether than number of rings. On my AT&T iPhone, the default was 20 seconds and they increased it to their maximum of 30 seconds.
This is usually set by your network provider, so you have 2 choices.
1) Call the network Customer Service number and ask them to extend the time before it diverts.
2) Try the following network code to change it yourself:
**61*XXXXX**TT# (then send)
XXXXX = The number you dial to access your voicemail (if it starts with a zero remove it)
TT = The time in seconds before diverting. The maximum value is usually 30, although some people report problems when using 30 seconds. I believe the maximum is specified by the individual network, so try different value 15 / 20 / 25 / 30.
usually there is a small slide switch on the side of the answering machine that you can use to control how many rings before it answers. if that is a new digital model you will likely have to go into the menu to set it up. often your choices are two, four or toll saver.
It really depends on the type of machine you have. Some have a sliding indicator on the side or bottom that is for the number of rings depending on where the slide is. New models can be programed from the handset by going to menu, then initial settings, Answering, then number of rings. Type the number of rings at the prompt and hit save. That is how my new machine works.
Push Menu, Scroll to Initial Setting and push Select, go to Set Answering and push select, go to Ring Count and push select, you should be able to scroll up or down to the number of rings, in your case 6, and then push save
