SOURCE: My 2006 Road King toe shifter is stripped. How do

If that's where your shifter is stripped, you're lucky. Usually, they strip back where the shifter rod connects to the shifter pawl shaft.

To replace the shaft at the shifter lever, just take the floor board off and the bolts that hold the shifter bracket on. Slide the bracket off the shaft and take the shifter rod off the shaft. No problem.

SOURCE: How do I raise the

To raise the shift lever, take the bolt out of the shifter, pull it off the shaft and reposition it where you want it, put the bolt back in and tighten it up. No problem. On most bikes, you can get a heel/toe shifter to go on them. Look in most any aftermarket catalog. Try here http://www.customchrome.com/dcm/cc/index.asp

How do I raise the toe shifter higher so I can actually get my foot underneath it to up shift. I'm used to using heel, but this would really help me to get to neutral with toe and when in traffic.

MY BIKE SHIFTS HARD GOING INTO 5TH GEAR. THIS IS USING THE HEEL PART OF THE SHIFTING LEVER. IT SEEMS TO GO INTO GEAR EASIER WHEN LIFTING ON THE TOE PART OF LEVER. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS.

The heel and toe shifter is brutal on gear boxes, any motorcycle I have had over the years the heel shift was never used in fact we, we meaning all my friends would ether cut that hell part off or purchase the actual toe shifter and install it. Some of the new cruiser type bikes come with these heel and to shifters and you can hear the rider slamming the gears. The toe shifter is a much more precise feel. You can also feel if the shift has go into the gear or a faults neutral with the hell you slam through it, makes me shiver just thinking of it. A question to you (you don't need to answer it) is how many high performance motorcycles have you see with a heal/toe shifter, I would hope none

I am in process of buying Pulsar180cc but find problem with gear lever. It is a toe shifting gear shaft and can damage my formal shoes. if there is any possibility to change the gear lever ?

If you wrap some foam rubber or a bit of cloth around the shifter you wil overcome the problem, and get a free shine at the same time. Unfortuantely, these bikes do not have a heel shifter. If you go to a bike shop, you might find one that has matching splines, that wat you can downshift using the toe shifter and up shift using the heel..

Loose shifter arm on the transmission

To remove that arm, the inner primary must come off, but try this first:
About 75% of the time, just replacing that allen screw will solve the problem. Don't just tighten it, replace it. Make sure the arm is slid all the way on the splines. The screw usually doesn't loosen, it stretches.
