Does anyone know if you can repair inner bladders? and if so how do you do it? how successful do repairs tend to be? Thinking of buying the Seablade but the inner bladder has a leak on a seam.
Dollar store contact cement in tube., an old bike tire, cut a patch out of tire and glue the patch on glueing around hole and underneath patch. apply patch smoothly. now glue around edge of patch. and let it dry for a few days at least 24 hrs. I have patched a bic yakka and a few cheaper inflatables patches hold up and hold air. good luck.
If it is a small hole, you can buy a patch kit specifically for inflatable kayaks. Cut a pierce a bit larger than the hole and glue a toothpick to the center of it and let dry. Apply a liberal amount of glue to the toothpick side of the patch, then use the toothpick to push the patch into the hole and then pull the patch so that it is snug against the inside of the bladder. Let it dry before you remove the toothpick and smooth off the site. The air pressure inside the hull will push the patch against the hole. If the hole is too big, follow the instructions inside the package.

I think the rivet has come out. You have to repair the rivet or put a new rivet which can hold the seam back in ot its original position. Here are the instructions to repair. If a part that is riveted to the boat needs to be replaced, the rivet needs to be drilled out. Using the center punch, punch the center of the rivet down. This will provide a pilot hole to make the drilling operation easier. Then, using the 13/64" drill bit, drill straight down on the center of the rivet (small silver center). If the outer black disk begins to spin, hold it in place with the needle nose pliers. Once the hole is drilled out, a new rivet may then be attached. Check to make sure the rivet fits snugly in the hole. If it does not, refill the hole and re-drill the hole with a 13/64" drill bit. Next, replace the broken part. If attaching a strap, be sure to use a washer between the rivet and the strap. You will need these tools. Drill, 13/64" drill bit, needle nose pliers, cherry rivets, center punch, and cherry rivet gun
