High pitched noise

When the TV is turned on a high pitch noise is heard. After about 3 minutes it stops. If you turn on the direct TV receiver at the same time the noise is louder especially if it is on an HD channel. Sometimes it will even effect the picture if you turn them on at the same time. The TV is about 2 years old. The direct TV people were out and said it was not their receiver causing the problem. High pitched noise persists for several minutes after turning on the TV and then it goes away. The volume the signal from our cable box doesn't work anymore. I plugged the cable directly into the TV, and we have to do a channel search every time after the TV has been off for a while.

My TV, also about two years old, also makes a loud high pitch buzzing sound when it turns on and gradually gets softer and then is gone after about three minutes. It was really loud this morning and the screen had very bright green and orange vertical stripes and no discernible picture. I unplugged the first cord I could reach behind the TV and the picture was fine but the sound continued for a few minutes and then went away.

I am about to post a in depth guide about how to fix this problem. It's because a capacitor inside the TV has blown which causes the buzzing high pitched noise. It's really easy to fix however and only costs about £1 / $2 to sort out.

You can read a similar guide here http://www.fixya.com/support/r741402-polaroid_flm_373b_lcd_tv_black_screen but I will shortly be uploading a guide on the buzzing problem!

SOURCE: High pitched noise

The power supply is starting to fail on your LCD. The noise you hear is because the circuit is trying to provide the proper power to the rest of the circuitry and is forcing itself.
The noise does increase if you tune to an HD channel because of more demand for power for a brighter picture.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

High Pitched Noise Coming from Sony STR-DH510 LCD Screen - how to fix?

Hello
The problem is with its backlight inverter board. there are some step-up transformeres [small ones] fitted on board. If any one's core bacome loose this fault will occur. Just open the TV and listen to which one makes hi-pitch noise. Replace it, if you can buy it from the electronic market at your town. In most cases, the inverter board needs replacement.
This board can locate on the right or left side of the panel, fitted vertically.

My sansui tv makes a loud high pitch noise. I have had it 3 years, it is a a riging noise, and hard to hear the tv shows. what do i do?

ever since for ever, ive always heard a loudish high pitched ring from analog tv's. e.g. i would know a tv was on in another room even if it was muted. ive told other people about it but they dont seem to hear what i hear. so im gonna geuss either

a. analog tv's all make that noise to a verying degree but most people just dont notice it or subconciously cancle it out as normal.

b. its a kind of hyper sensitivity to high pitched noise, in essence, tinitus.

on a final note, its not medical as i always pass my hearing tests. but to answer your question, either buy a digital tv or turn up the volume.

Philips HTS3450 - high pitched humming noise until warmed up

Jeremy,

Read one of my posts:
I used a hairdryer and blew hot air into the grill on the bottom of the subwoofer enclosure which reduced the delay time from ~1hr to 5 minutes. (The high pitched noise was still there for about 1-2 minutes)
