I have no sound on my hp pavilion 503n desktop so i did a driver scan and it showed no multimedia audio controller driver found for this device.how can i download this driver for free from the internet?

go to control panel/system security/device manager
device mager/ scan device if you see a driver yellow icon like this(?) click it audio device and update driver online. step by step. automatic run online...
you might have to uninstall then reinstall either the driver or the sound devices control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select appropriate speakers or audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustmentsthere or control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager,sound,could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers or right click select properties to either troubleshoot,uninstall,rollback driver hope this helps

Installation of Sound Card.
Go to the control panel
Click on the System Icon
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager then
Select the Multimedia Controller or Audio Control the yellow Question Marks sign on it.
Right click on Multimedia Controller and uninstall it.
After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
Driver installation Wizard start.
if the problem is still exist.
Replace the sound card or have a local tech take a look at the sound card.

Secondly soundmax has many versions running so look for the driver that was released during the time you bought your PC. Many a time you got to manually add the hardware and then its driver for it to function properly....................sodeep
1. Downloading the latest drivers pretty much is always the first advice that will be given for computer problems. If device manage is reporting device drivers are not installed then there is your answer. I did have a quick search and can't find your particular computer.

2. Have you tried going into 'My Computer' right clicking the drive and selecting eject? Does the drive work at all, is there a disk in there?
