Onkyo SKW-200 Subwoofer

Oknkyo SKW-791 has build in amplifier. So it can be connected through Line Out Connector of sansui amplifier. If speakers out is connected with subwoofer, the circuit board in subwoofer will be blown.

The thumping sound might be originating from problems within internal parts, like capacitors or resistors, which could be contributing to the issue

Hi Kenny, sorry you can't. The TX=SR505 requires a powered subwoofer. The SKW-360 is passive. Thank you, Onkyo USA

Hello, To test the subwoofer when the blue light is on if you apply your thumb to the end of the subwoofer cable (the end that you would plug into the receiver) there should be feedback from the sub. If there is no feedback then the sub is not working correctly. Thanks, FJD

It would seem that a call or email to the mfr, should be your first move.
Are you certain that the transformer is at fault?
These normally outlive most everything else-

does the green light power up on the back? If not the power supply is bad

The amp output stage or the power supply is shorted. Service shop type repair.

My Onkyo S/W did the same thing untill I unplugged it from the surge protector that all the other A/V devices are plugged into. I plugged the sub into it's very own wall recepticle with it's very own new surge protector. Maybe cleaner power is the answer.

Sounds like power problem of some sort ,have you read the instructions properly.some of these will have on/off switches in the wierdest of places
