My machine is working but the foot pedal seems dead. When I turn the machine off and on again I heard a sound indicating the machine kicked in and I was stitching just before it stopped working, so believe it is the pedal. When I first put the machine on today to sew, there was no action and pedal seemed off, so thought it was a connection. When i restated machine it sewed, but then after stopping to do something, then starting again with a new stitch, no movement, but machine made OK sounds. The foot pedal feels "dead." Is that possible? Do foot pedals need to be replaced after a while? Thanks

Call the place you had the machine serviced and tell them they did not get it fixed; you need to have them to look at it again - as you wait and at no additional charge unless a part has to be replaced.

Where has it been for ten years? This could have a big affect on an electronic sewing machine.
Take the machine in to a sewing machine shop for service.

google the manufacturer and see if you can get one by mail from ITALY

Assuming that the timing, needle clearance, position finger and needle plate position are all properly set you can try the following:
1. Oil the hook (use Pfaff hook oil, it is a lighter weight than the normal white oil used on sewing machines).
2. Check the hook tip and flank for damage, buff out if possible.
3. Check the needle plate for damage and buff out.
4. Replace the needle.
This is a great machine and is worth keeping up, Pfaff doesn't make the all metal hook anymore which is a shame.
good luck!
