Foot pedal not working

My machine is working but the foot pedal seems dead. When I turn the machine off and on again I heard a sound indicating the machine kicked in and I was stitching just before it stopped working, so believe it is the pedal. When I first put the machine on today to sew, there was no action and pedal seemed off, so thought it was a connection. When i restated machine it sewed, but then after stopping to do something, then starting again with a new stitch, no movement, but machine made OK sounds. The foot pedal feels "dead." Is that possible? Do foot pedals need to be replaced after a while? Thanks

Yes, it is possible that the foot pedal can go out,, it would be a good
idea to have the foot pedal checked at a repair shop to see for
sure

Testimonial: "I went to sewing machine store today and the pedal checked out as dying, so ordered a new one. Thx again!"

Call the place you had the machine serviced and tell them they did not get it fixed; you need to have them to look at it again - as you wait and at no additional charge unless a part has to be replaced.

SOURCE: Pfaff 7530/ electronic problem?

Where has it been for ten years? This could have a big affect on an electronic sewing machine.

Take the machine in to a sewing machine shop for service.

Assuming that the timing, needle clearance, position finger and needle plate position are all properly set you can try the following:
1. Oil the hook (use Pfaff hook oil, it is a lighter weight than the normal white oil used on sewing machines).
2. Check the hook tip and flank for damage, buff out if possible.
3. Check the needle plate for damage and buff out.
4. Replace the needle.

This is a great machine and is worth keeping up, Pfaff doesn't make the all metal hook anymore which is a shame.

good luck!

My matching viking 6570 is suddenly not working it does not move

I assume you are referring to a Viking 6570 sewing machine.
Ensure power is getting to machine is light working?, is the motor trying to move when you press the pedal? if you hear noise that it is trying to move the mechine is blocked try gently turning by hand if still does not move then machine has mechanical issue or is blocked with threads or dust
When was machine services or oiled as per handbook?
If there is no no sound from motor but machine has power and turn normally by hand this would indicate either the foot pedal switch or the motor is broken and probably needs replacement. Try with another foot pedal first if possible

When this happens unplug the foot pedal and see if it stops. That would suggest it is in the pedal. Does the machine try to turn when this happens?

White 1600 SpeedyLock. Power, but foot pedal won't engage. Took foot pedal apart, mechanically looks fine-- computer board in there. Do I need a new foot pedal?

When stepping on the foot control, does the motor hum or anything? Or is dead silent? If it sounds like it's trying to do something, the serger probably needs to be serviced. If it's silent, you probably need a new foot control.

Lights turn on but foot pedal stays dead. Needle

If you know someone who is savvy in the mysteries of electricity, ask them to test the foot pedal to see if it is working and the socket on the machine to see if it is receiving power.

If you need a new foot control pedal - check the Internet for best prices - you will need the machine's model number.

If you take the machine to a dealer for service, ask what it will cost before making the trip.

The bench rate for just looking at the machine may not be worth it.

Foot pedal dead, machine keeps sewing!

There is no suppressor in the foot control of a 425. Only the control unit, which may need to be replaced. If the machine accelerates to full speed, it may have a problem with the "stop right" board which tells the machine whether to stop with the needle up.
You could have several problems, so go see a qualified Husqvarna repairman. You may contact Husqvarna customer service to locate the best one in your area.
