Resistance on elliptical acting weird

I have a proform elliptical exerciser. The resistance was not working at all - it stays on one resistance. I changed the tension motor and it's still the same thing. I changed the console and now the resistance works. But the funny thing is that when the resistance shows 10 on the console, the magnets are farthest from the wheel and therefore low resistance. When the resistance shows 1 on the console, the magnets are closest to the wheel and therefore the highest resistance to pedal.... I need some help.

can anybody tell me which way to connect the cable to the tension motor? clockwise or anti-clockwise...

My elliptical had the same problem due to the cable not being attached to the motor correctly, After fixing this, I had the same issue with resistance being the lowest at the highest setting and vice versa. To fix this, I had to reconnect the cable so that the motor pulls the magnet away from the wheel when I decrease the resistance on the console (you'll need someone to assist you by pessing the plus and minus buttons while you figure out which way the motor turns the pulley, to which the cable is attached.

1) tight the bolts tension for magnet and clean very well. and proof..if the fail
2) go to test the magnet, use again the magnet from your refrigerator magnet, for attraction and repulsion. If do not pass the TEST replace the magnet in any Hardware such home depot, etc.
God bless you

My 390 E is locked up and I can't move the pedals. I checked the belt, it's still on and it's tight.

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
Electronics Problem You control the tension of the pedals using the buttons on the console. When you assemble the A.C.T. elliptical, you have to thread a group of wires from the console through the upright down to the electronics board. These wires communicate the resistance settings to the electronics board. If the wires twist, disconnect or break, the resistance will not work. You will need to reconnect or replace the wires.

How to use the Proform 515S EKG Elliptical?

To mount the elliptical trainer, firmly hold the handlebars or the T-handle and carefully step onto the pedal that is in the lowest position. Next, step onto the other pedal. Push the pedals until they begin to move with a continuous motion. Note: The pedal disks can turn in either direction. It is recommended that you turn the pedal disks in the direction shown below; however, to give variety to your exercise, you may choose to turn the pedal disks in the opposite direction.
To dismount the elliptical trainer, allow the pedals to come to a complete stop. CAUTION: The elliptical trainer does not have a free wheel; the pedals will continue to move until the flywheel stops. When the pedals are stationary, step off the highest pedal first. Then, step off the lowest pedal.
As you exercise, you can adjust the resistance of the pedals with the resistance knob on the console. To increase the resistance, turn the knob clockwise; to decrease the resistance, turn the knob counterclockwise.
