SOURCE: I have an HTC touch2.

Hi,

The problem is from the message center number, you will need to check it for right message center number. From the menu on your phone, go to message, from message go to setting, next to message center to check if the message center number is correct. the way you can no if the message center is correct is to compare it with a friend phone that uses the same network as yours using the same network as yours.
If after making comparison with your friends number, set it to the real message center number, your text messages will start sending.
You can also call you network service provider to get the message center number.

My phone can't write text messages (they are converted straight to MMS and when i convert it to text it still dosen't work), nobody can receive them, i can't reply to anything (it keeps expecting me to...

Problems sending or receiving SMS may be caused by no or incorrect SMS settings. To set up your phone to use SMS, you need a message centre number, which is provided by your network operator. This is often set up automatically when inserting a new SIM card to a phone. Whiteout the message centre number, you are not able to send or receive SMS.

To edit the service centre number:

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity >Message settings.
  2. Select Text message.
  3. Highlight Service centre and select Edit.
  4. Highlight a service centre number and selectOptions > Edit > Continue.
  5. Enter the service centre number and selectSave > Yes.
  6. Highlight the service centre number and selectSelect to use the defined service centre number.

To add a service centre number provided by your network operator:

  1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity >Message settings.
  2. Select Text message.
  3. Highlight Service centre and select Edit.
  4. Select Add to add a new service centre number.
  5. Enter the service centre number and selectSave.
  6. Highlight the service centre number and selectSelect to use the defined service centre number.
This should help you.
any further questions feel free to ask.
Thanks.

Cant send or recieve text messages on my mobile phone

hi, if you are having trouble sending or recieving text messages then the fisrt thing you need to do is delete all the sent and recieved messages and also drafts due to the fact that if your memory is full this will give you loads of problem sending and recieving text or mms messages so deleting these will then get your messages working again.

If how ever you still cant send or recieve text messages then the chances are that your message center number is wrong or got mest up, what you need to do is contact your service provider and ask them to send you the text message center number settings, they will then tell you the correct message center number and how to change this setting on your phone.

They wont charge for this and it will only take 2 minutes to solve your problem.

It would not send a text

Possible that the message center number is not entered into the messages menu settings.
So open menu- messages open message centre setting and put the number of the centre. this you must call up the toll free call centre of your service provider who will give the details.. If you have moved from one provider ,delete off the old number an put in the new one.

To go to this options please check follow these steps....
1.open 'menu'
2.open 'messages'
3.Go to 'message settings'
4.in that open 'text message'
5.there is an option called as 'message centre',please entre your new message centre number and save it. set this as your message centre
6.Check the option 'reply via same centre' and please put it to 'NO'

Phone wont send or recieve txts

On every phone there are settings that can stop you sending texts. However all phones should still receive texts even if all the settings were changed. As the text message is directed to you mobile number you should still be receiving?
When you compose your text and select contact does the phone move them to the out/sent box?
Settings to check for sending are your 'message centre number' (your network provider can supply and they are normally different for pay monthly and pay & go) 'Message sent as' should be 'text' (not fax or email etc).
Text problems are common where people change or delete digits from the message centre number by mistake.
If you cannot receive texts i would recommend speaking to your provider for help as it may be your account details at their end? (beyond your control). Hope that helps?

Cant send texts but can recieve them

This is almost certainly a problem with your phone not having the correct Message Centre settings (have you ever used this phone with a different carrier?).

The Message Centre number can be found in Messaging/Settings/Text Message/Text Message Centre. You will probably need to check with your Service Provider to get the correct number, although you may find it on their website.

Text messages

if you cannot recieve check with your network operator as this may not be active on your number . sending text messages is also another thing that you will have to speak to your network about as you will need a service centre number .
