This can be caused by many hours on the unit or a bad solder joint on the PCB. It will need to be seen by a repair Technician.

No dics display

That means it can not focus on the disc or that you are using the wrong disc type like a DVD in a CD player. Try cleaning the lens.

Get display : NO DISC or BAD DISC

Probably the laser lens needs cleaning.
Purchase a laser lens cleaner disc at Radio Shack ($13). No chemicals are involved.
Read & follow the instructions. It cannot harm the player if not done right.

Display reads No Disc despite all the discs checking out.

Hi, the optical lens assembly has failed. this is triggering the (no disc) error code. you will need to replace this failed optical assembly.

Will not record disc-to-disc

The first thing to try is cleaning the lenses, sounds obvious, but i think thats why its continuing to try :initialising: if that fails the lense that reads the disc or both likely need realigning most problems that acure whith any cdplayers ect are down to the lenses.

SONY SLV-350P DVD PLAYER/VCR COMBO

I'm afraid you are dealing with a weakened Laser on the unit. The cost vs. benefit ratio of fixing this unit is not worthwhile.

You will find that there are newer versions of this device on the market less expensive than what you paid for the unit you have now.

MDS E12 displays 'Over' and ejects all discs with 'Read Error'

"Over" is always lit in the display. It just marks the end of the VU meter scale.

You have a drive problem. Nothing to do with your track 15 operation.

I would suggest reseating the drive ribbon cables, oxidation of these is a common theme with my MDS-JE530 which shows the same symptoms periodically.
