All marine and CB radio are either 4 watts or 5 watts. So no CB and marine radios are the same power out

If it is a CB radio it is limited to what all the other cb radios do. You can get them "tuned up" but its illegal and depending who does it can harm the radio.

Where can I get a mic lead or mic and lead to replace the worn damaged lead fitted? The radio is a NAVMAN mcb7270 27MHz marine radio.

dont know how to open it but you can buy most cb radio stuff at ebay or amazon. i have seen a lot of these radios on ebay. and you can google it as well. plus if you dont see anyway to open it you probably just need to replace it. hope this helps. believe me i learned the hard way when it comes to things that have no screws.

W do I turn off squelch control on a digitech DC-1065 marine radio hand held 5 Watt

Hi David,

Before I try to give advice, I need more info.

I possess a Digitech DC1065 UHF 80 Channel CB hand held, so there seems to be some confusion here.

I live near Perth, Western Australia.

Firstly, How many channels does your radio have?

If the answer is 80, then what you have is a UHF CB, not a marine band radio.

Marine band is VHF with 87 Channels, in Australia that is, and the default channel is always 16.

Digitech are an Australian radio manufacturer, so you'll get great backup service.

If your radio is not defaulting to Ch16, then I am right about it being a UHF CB.

Therefore, it is useless for VHF anything, let alone Marine band.

I'm almost 100% sure this is a UHF CB in your possession.

Try this to prove me right please.

Reply to me with your Country and nearest city, I'll then be able to find a solution for you real quick, though I believe I already have.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,
Peter

The volume wont go higher than 12 on my Jensen Mcd5110 Marine Radio/am/fm/Cd receiver W/Detachable face, how can I fix it to go all the way up to 26 plus?

take off the bottom cover ,find the volume switch on the outside then find it on the inside. Now get some WD-40 and spray the control on the inside with a very, very light squirt of WD - 40. Let it set for a while then try it.It should work.

Is a Cobra HH 38 WX ST C compatible with VHS marine radios?? Can it be used from mobile unit in a vehicle to the stationary unit in the boat ??

  • Hi, I can help.
  • The Cobra HH 38WX ST is a hand held CB restricted to the normal 40 CB channels.
  • A VHS marine radio uses different frequencies and different antennas.
  • I would absolutely not hook one to the others antenna set up or you will fry that radio as the SWR would go through the roof immediately.
  • You can use that CB in the mobile and on a boat but they would need their own antenna setup.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

I just purchased a uniden solara dsc.I HOOKED IT UP AND THE NOAA WORKS BUT I TRIED TALKING AND NOTHING HAPPENED.(I have a tractor with a radio and neither of us could hear each other).

The Uniden Solara is a MARINE RADIO not a CB. Marine (boat) radios operate in the VHF-Hi range and CB is in the VHF-Lo range. You also need a license to operate a marine radio, or you can identify yourself with the name of your boat but you MUST be in the water.

Uniden marine radio

Cb radios are usally detuned to meet fcc regulations. The other radios usually are peaked out all the way.
