Close out of Safari by holding down the home button then sliding the small Safari page up until it disappears. Then turn off the device by holding down the sleep/wake button and sliding to power off, leave it off for at least 10 seconds then turn it back on to test.
Still not working? Go into Settings > Safari > Adanced > Safari Data > Erase all Safari data. Turn it off and on again like above.
If it is still not working, download another browser like Google Chrome and see if those work there.
If you are running an old version of the software like iOS 6 (you can check this under Settings > General > About) or you have an older iPad, it might just be a limitation of the older technology. Those sites are designed to work with up to date technology.
If you are running current software or have a new iPad then you might want to restore the device - Safari is part of the software so it could just be a glitch with the software.
iOS cannot be downloaded with safari
There are two ways to update the iOS version of your iPad 2:
- via connecting the device to iTunes on a computer
- or directly from within the device
but only since iOS 5 it is possible to update the iOS version without the need to connect the iOS device to a computer (over-the-air update)
just go to: settings - general - software update
The authorised way of downloading apps on the ipad is via the app store. Go to the app store and find the apps using the search facillity that you are trying to download via safari and they will instal properly. You must remember that safari is not really a fully functional browser as it would be on a desktop machine. You will not be able to download things like flash games or use flash enhanced websites. Hope this helps.
Safari in iOS devices (iPhone,iPod,iPad) is system app, and is always updated with update of firmware (iOS), you can't update safari itself, without updating whole firmware.
safari cant download certain files because iOs dosen't support that format but I know a way around all that
1. go to the app store and search downloads lite or you can buy the full.
2. go and find your file and downlaod it.
then go on iTunes and go under apps and select Downloads Lite then drag and drop your files
.exe files are Microsoft Windows Executable files, that can only run on Microsoft Windows. They cannot be run on the iPad, so Safari doesn't download them.
The place to get apps for the iPad is the App Store - have a search, there'll probably be something that can do what you need. Out of interest, what are you trying to do? I may be able to suggest an app.
Hope that helped!
Microsoft Silverlight is a plugin that only works on some desktop browsers. It is never going to be supported in Safari, because it is rapidly becoming outdated - content providers should be using more modern, efficient and faster technologies. Depending on what you are trying to do, there may be a native way of doing it - search for it in the App Store.
You cannot download IE because Microsoft do not make IE for the iPad. You cannot run MS Windows programs (.exe files) on the iPad. If you don't want to use Safari to browse the web, just search 'browser' in the App Store, and you'll find soma alternatives.
Just remember: The App Store is the only place you can get apps for your iPad!
Hope that helped!
