Dropped 32 in Sanyo TV off of stand. It worked for 2 weeks and then the picture went out. Still have audio. What would a picture tube cost?

HELLO

A new tube will cost you the same or even MORE than a new TV. You could try to locate a second-hand tube but even then you would have to get a service engineer to replace it for you.

If I were you, I would just get a decent second-hand TV.

Hope this helps (:-)

You tube videos run foe 2 seconds & stop for

Sounds like a bandwidth problem -- a slow internet connection. The only other time I have seen a problem like this was when there was an issue with the motherboard, video card or sound card -- depending on the type of machine you have. To prove there is no issue with video and sound, place a dvd into the machine and ensure that runs properly. Assuming it does, then chances are you just have a poor internet connection.

Sony Trinitron KV35V35

Could be a weak Picture tube . You can try turning up the screen control but don't turn it up too much you'll get retrace lines in the picture . Turn it alittle at time until picture comes on then turn it down until the retrace lines go away . Then try turning the tv on and off to make sure it comes back on. Be careful you can get shocked if you do this while it is on and you touch one of the circuits . The control is on the flyback or the module thats on the picture tube it will say screen by it . If this does not work you could have vidoe problems or just the picture is no good . Good luck

Television

tbrace, your picture tube is getting a little tired, the "IK circuit" is causing the blanking of the video because the tube is not returning a large enough signal back to the IC that monitors it. Theres only one fix (besides replacing the tube) for your set and that is to turn up the screen control. You have to remove the back from the set and on the right hand side there is a large plastic part called a flyback transformer, with a heavy wire coming out of the top which goes up to the picture tube, mounted on the front of this transformer is 2 black blastic "philips type" controls, one over the other look closely and one will be marked focus(do not turn that one) and the other is the screen control, turn the set on and SLOWLY turn the control clockwise until you see a bright picture with white lines in it, once you see the lines turn it back until they disappear, (check several channels to be sure they are gone) your done, may last 3 weeks, may last a year, it`s all you can do, BMW Rider

My Sony tv CRT

If it's between 5-10 secs, that's normal. You will turn the tv on and hear a loud (buzz/hum) that is the picture tube firing up, once it's fired up, it has a few more seconds until your picture comes up fully. That is about 5-10 secs from pushing the power button.

If it's taking longer than that, your picture tube may be going out.

I had a 36XBR250 and it took about 10 secs to fire up and show a picture, and it was 5 1/2 years old.
