Bose Acoustimass 15 System Logo

Have a Bose Acoustimass 15, Would seem the fuse has blown, all other speakers work. Have removed two screws and the two knobs. Found the slider mechanism, and moved it facing up towards me, issue is still can not slide the cover off, Does it go towards the inputs, or up? Is it worth it since the fuse I guess is soldered?

Of course it's worth it - just unsolder the old fuse and solder a new one in. But first make sure the fuse is really blown. Buy a cheap $10 ohmmeter and check it - a good fuse will make the meter respond, or make the ohmmeter beep. Note that a blown fuse might still make the ohmmeter respond, since other circuits connected to the fuse will affect the reading. So look for zero ohms. If you get like 5 or 10 ohms or more, the fuse is blown. It may not be the fuse, but this is the first step to find out. Best way to check fuses is to unsolder and lift one end, so that you're only reading the fuse.

Is there a fuse inside the bose acoustimass 15 series 3 as I have no power led or sound from it.

Yes, the Bose Acoustimass 15 Series 3 system does have an internal fuse that can be a potential cause for the lack of power and sound. If the system is not receiving power or showing any LED indicator lights, it's worth checking the fuse as a first step in troubleshooting.
To access the fuse in the Acoustimass module, follow these steps:
  1. Ensure the system is unplugged: Before working on any electrical components, make sure the Acoustimass module is completely disconnected from the power source.
  2. Locate the fuse compartment: The fuse compartment is typically located on the back or bottom of the Acoustimass module. It may be covered by a removable panel or secured with screws.
  3. Open the fuse compartment: Remove the panel or screws to access the fuse compartment. Inside, you should see the fuse holder.
  4. Check the fuse: Inspect the fuse visually to see if it is blown or damaged. If the fuse appears blackened, broken, or melted, it is likely blown and needs to be replaced.
  5. Replace the fuse: If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same type and rating. Ensure you use a fuse with the correct amperage specified by the manufacturer. It's a good practice to keep spare fuses of the appropriate rating on hand for future needs.
  6. Close the fuse compartment: After replacing the fuse, securely close the fuse compartment and ensure it is properly sealed.
  7. Plug in the system: Reconnect the Acoustimass module to the power source and turn it on. Check if the LED indicator lights up and if sound is produced.

Replace fuse bass module

If there are no obvious screws holding the back in place, then the only way to have access is to remove the grill, remove the speaker and go in from that end to perform the needed repair of the connector. You can remove the wires from the speaker so it does not get in the way as you use the speaker opening for access. good luck.

Bose Acoustimass 15 subwoofer is completely dead.

Clarify, did it ever work for you? Were both receivers used properly configured for the subwoofer? Did you also test the other speaker moduels running off the subwooferto see if they work?

Speaker Receiver setting
• Left and right LARGE
• Center LARGE
• Left and right surround LARGE
• Center surround* LARGE
• LFE/Subwoofer ON
With an Acoustimass 16 Series II system or upgraded Acoustimass 15 Series IlI system only.

I lost sound on one side of bose stereo system., Seems its the power ouput on the right side speaker, i changed speakers and the right one works when plugged into the left output. How do I open the bose...

first lets check
no need to open any thing

1) just trace the wire of working channel and plug out that and connect to opposite side of that channel

for example: if front left is not working, remove pin of front right and plug it into front left

after that listen the sound if front left is working then no need to open amplifier just check the wires of satellite speaker which is not working

how to check broken wire:

1) just observe your speaker nearly if you found any screw holes open it, if u can not find any screw holes remove front net which is fitted by press lock or any stepped groove, you can remove that and if you are removing front net you have to open speaker from casing then after you can find speaker's wire shouldered or bolted to it just check wire and go on after that u'll be sure that weather your speaker is failed or wire!!!

enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
