Have a Bose Acoustimass 15, Would seem the fuse has blown, all other speakers work. Have removed two screws and the two knobs. Found the slider mechanism, and moved it facing up towards me, issue is still can not slide the cover off, Does it go towards the inputs, or up? Is it worth it since the fuse I guess is soldered?

Was the fuse for the sub blown?

can be chance for fuse blowing. also check is there is any MOV ( used for over voltage surge protection) chance to become shorted. if MOV is there, insert fuse only after replacing MOV.

Even i have the same problem.bose does not providing a single sub-woofer

remove the screws that hold the amplifier block to the speaker.the fuses are in the amplifier inside

Clarify, did it ever work for you? Were both receivers used properly configured for the subwoofer? Did you also test the other speaker moduels running off the subwooferto see if they work?

first lets check
no need to open any thing

1) just trace the wire of working channel and plug out that and connect to opposite side of that channel


for example: if front left is not working, remove pin of front right and plug it into front left

after that listen the sound if front left is working then no need to open amplifier just check the wires of satellite speaker which is not working

how to check broken wire:

1) just observe your speaker nearly if you found any screw holes open it, if u can not find any screw holes remove front net which is fitted by press lock or any stepped groove, you can remove that and if you are removing front net you have to open speaker from casing then after you can find speaker's wire shouldered or bolted to it just check wire and go on after that u'll be sure that weather your speaker is failed or wire!!!

same problem, i found the transformer looks like the wax or glue melted down on the cir board . . . not sure if that the problem but has anybody seeing the same ?
