How do i replace the shutter on my nikon d2x

If you're asking how to replace the shutter yourself, you need to rethink this. Shutter replacement is a complicated procedure and is best done by a certified Nikon repair facility.

My Nikon D2x is having shutter problems, HELP!

the only time i have ever seen this on my D2x is when the lens isnt snapped all the way on. but since you have tried several lenses, i am sure they are snapped on. this leads me to believe something is wrong with one of the contacts on the camera where the lens snaps on--check them to be sure they are springing out and clean. check the owners manual to see if there is another cause for this message.

CF Card not found

Ok here is the issues with the Canon 300D digital Rebel XT model of camera. First issue bent pins or broken pins the CF card reader on this camera is Surface mounted soildered onto the bottom half of the mainboard a large ammount of disasimboly is required. After removing the mainboard next you need is a desolder rework station. to carefully remove the CF card reader from the mainboard one messup and it might be easier to replace the mainboard. Sometimes. next issue is the power issue if you have no bent pins or missing pins, and the battery door is pushing on the door closure switch and the memory card door is pusting on its door closure switch then most likely you issue is 1 of 3 fuses underneath the power switch. these switches are the size of a few grains of salt very very small.I charge 150.00 to change the fuses and 225.00 to replace the CF card reader as long as none of the traces are damaged. if they are damaged the main board would need to be replaced and it is around 250.00 + depending on the parts cost at the time. If your good at soldering go for it. if not then let the experts do it.

View Live Images?

You can't view live images on the monitor; the D2X does not have a Live View capability. A suitable version of Nikon Camera Control Pro may allow you to connect the D2X to a computer.

CF Card Err

Sounds like you have bent pins on your CF reader. Open the door, take out the card and look inside. Is there damage to the pins?

You maybe able to fix it with pincers and a needle just align the pin or pins that are out of place, i did this and it worked for me and now my camera is working fine. and for free.

Good luck

Gluing rubber cover on rear door of Nikon D2x

i have little faith that this can be done, as i tried doing it with epoxy - my favorite, never-fails adhesive - and it didn't work. i think if you can get your camera to Nikon, though, they'll replace the whole door with another whose rubber isn't likely to come off. i read someone online saying they took their D2x in for some other repair and Nikon replaced the door without even asking him...whether they did it for free, i don't know, but i'd hope so, since the rubber falling off in the first place is really their fault.
