Hi, The Camera (CCD) would appear to be faulty. I service scanners and I have come accross this problem on this model twice. It was not worth replaceing the camera due to the low value of the scanner. Cost of part plus labour would be too high.

Hello the repair for this is remove the bottom camera and/or ccd and clean where the bottom camera is normally seated. I have seen it to be piece of a staple. The bottom camera not seated correctly makes the top camera not seat correctly and bingo half of your image is gone.

Thanks for that Dante. Just spent the morning cleaning out the space where the lower camera sits on 2 of these scanners. I did not find any staples but did find a couple of crumbs of food and a minute piece of plastic that was causing an obstruction. As a result the cameras do not line up and are unable to check for the white reference strip. Which in turn produces either part of the image missing on the front & rear image and/or solid black image on the rear image.

Canon ir 3300 printer has dark part in page not apper in print what is problem

dear
If the dark portion of the page is out side of the image scanned, then there may be chance of light passing to the scanner through platen glass.Pl. check the top cover and whiteness of the flap.

If the scanning through the PC has the same problem then the SHADING adjust to be done.

Thanks

Canon Dr2050C Duplex scanning reverse page all black

Check your brightness setting for backside. Ideally keep it automatic, else you can manually choose the right brightness.

Getting vertical lines on scanned pages when duplex scanning on canon dr-3080c II scanner Only on duplex side of pages, though. Front page still shows up clean.

It is dust on the glass, clean it thoroughly. You will find it at the same location for all drawings and may get faded for lower brightness!

Can not print the incoming fax as well as cannot copy a page

Hi
The scanner unit don't reach the scan possition. If you open the front cover, check and see if the is no obstruction in the scanner parth to flip down to the scan possition.Pull the scanner unit a few times foward down and backwards up.If that dont work the grease on the scanner clutch might cause the scanner not to go to scan possition. For service of that clutch you will have to take it to the Canon dealer.

White line down side of page when scanning

If this is happening only when you are scanning using the automatic document feeder, check for something blocking light above the scanner. If you open the scanner top, look along the left side of the scanner glass where the paper is scanned by the automatic document feeder. If you see anything on the glass there, clean it with a soft cloth dampened with clean water.

DR 2050C

This has something to do the brightness chosen. In the manual mode, if you choose a dark output, the output will have tis area also; if you choose, lighter output, it will omit. In the auto scan mode, the scanner decides what is the best output.

Documents scanned as 256 grey scale/TIFF show up as black pages.

Grey as you know is different shades of black. Uncompressed TIF can store this information. Compressed TIFF is not designed for this. Compressed TIFF is for blck & white only. Try JPG option. JPG can compress Color & Grey. For pure black & white chose TIFF compression.
