Fuji Finepix F10 zoom error when camera is turned on

I have an electronic background and would like to try to try to repair this camera myself. I tried to take it apart but I don't have the tri wing screwdriver thats required. I would like to know what size tri wing screwdriver is required and what parts are usually associated with this error. Are parts available and what is the approximate cost.

How old is your camera, where did you buy it and how long ago, and where are you, what city are you in, and I will pull up the schematic and figure that out for you, let me know.

hi i had the same problem with mine,i took the case apart but could see nothing untoward,reassembled it and just out of frustration i turned camera on if you listen carefully you will hear a whirring sound as soon as it starts turn camera off do this repatidly a few times but do not let the motor finish its cycle,hey presto no more fault. i can only assume that the motor sticks and by turning on and off really quickly frees it up...

I had the same problem turn up after a few weeks. When I used the zoom button, the lens pushed out again and the camera worked normally for that time. I had to go through that procedure every time I turned the camera on.
I then sent it back on warranty and they replaced the lens assembly as well as the mode dial knob etc.
This camera has a 3 year warranty.

Knocking the bottom of the lens end of the camera 3 times on a wood table, medium gentle, fixed a zoom error (where it would not focus in zoom)
The camera had been dropped whilst skiing holiday and this method fixed it. Very Happy!.

Same problem with me. Got a zoom error. I thought "it's still under warranty, so Fuji will help me out." WRONG! Fuji repair claims it has impact damage, but that's not true. The product is just defective. Fuji charges $113 to get it repaired. It cost me $140 from Dell only 7 months ago. Defective.

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct your problem. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them. As you stated that the lens is bent, you may need to start with Fix 7 first to straighten the lens first, before proceeding with the other fixes.

Fuji finepix a350 zoom error

Hi,

This problem is quite common with this camera. Try pulling the lens out gently all the way till the lens cover opens. Then you twist it gently till you hear a click and it should be fixed. Let me know how it goes.

I try to turn of my camera but my zooming in thing doesnt go in and if you want to take pictures it says zoom error also when you try to turn it of the lenses that cover the camera doesnt cover.

But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. I have a fuji finepix s7500 and zoom error. I dont have warranty so I tried to fix myself. I actually found the problem with the zoom. now I am trying to put it back together and I cant figure out where...

The trick is remembering how you dis-assembled so you can re-assemble.
Purchase or borrow another camera and photograph each step.
Buy a plastic tray with little compartments in and start at 1 end and then work back when assembling.

Zoom on fuji f650 stuck

Hi Sandra, Try power reset for your camera. Turn the camera on, and without turning the camera off, open the battery door and take the batteries out. Leave it for a minute or two. This helps camera get reset and helps correct the basic functionality and also zoom error. Hope it helps u otherwise u will have to take it to authorised repair center. Good Luck.

Fuji FinePix F40fd-Zoom error

Unfortunately this is one of the hardest cameras I have come across to repair. The plastic guide lugs inside the lens which keep it stable are so small that once they get damaged they are virtually impossible to repair and only a replacement part seems to rectify the problem. Source a donor camera on ebay for a cheaper option than sending to fuji. F45fd and F47fd use the same lens so these are an option for a donor if F40fd is not available.

Error message now showing

Does the lens extend and retract as normal?
If so then the internal drive gear for the zoom / focus has been damaged and will need to be repaired/ replaced.
If the whole lens will not move or is stuck then it needs to be removed, stripped and re-assembled.

Zoom error message on fujifilm a350 digital camera

whilst reading out loud instruction to fix the 'zoom error' my wife turned and twisted the zoom lens clockwise and shake th camera gently - all of a certain it worked again as per normal - try it - hope it works for you too!

The lens on your camera has become stuck due to being dropped, contamination such as sand, or a malfunction within the lens. If gently manipulating the lens itself does not free it then you will need to get it professionally repaired or replace the camera. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
