First open your bracelet. Then align groove in caseback with crown and press that side lightly into the case. Then using both hands(one from dial side, another from back) press as strong as you can.
If this do not work:
Get mens leather belt and place it on flat surface(table top). Lay the watch face down on that belt. Again adjust caseback as before and using your weight push caseback down with both hands.
NEVER use hammer or similar.
If none of these works- go and see your nearest watchmaker.

The leather belt method worked for me. Thanks a lot for the suggestion. To give you an idea of the pressure I had to apply though, I had to press the watch sandwiched between the leather belt with the heel of my feet and gradually shift my body weight to it until I heard it snap in place.I am about 160 lbs.

I used to work for the Fossil company for several years. This is the problem..NEVER replace the watch battery yourself. Why not you ask? There are tools that are made especially for taking the back off of the watch and putting it back on. Also, when the back of the watch is taken off, silicone is used to put a seal along the case and caseback, this is done to "re-seal" the watch so that water does not enter your watch. If you do it yourself you also void your warranty...you can either send in your watch back to the company or take it to your nearest Fossil location.

The store I bought my watch from no longer replaces the battery and said to replace it my self. Why you ask....because too many watches were breaking and the store then had to replace them! Who has time to send it back to the factory for battery replacement? I don't!

I used a belt and put it in a vise!! heard a "pop" - I thought the watch face broke, but it was the back snapping back on. I may not try this again.....

Not only Fossil watches, but all "snap" on backs are replaced using a watch press. Small handheld vices work too. A C-clamp will work but be sure to protect the crystal and turn slowly! A distinct "snap!" will tell you when it is back in position. Check your local hardware...

How do u open back to fix an fossil black 5 atm fs-4351 hand watch

Jerry, If its smooth on the back cover, you have to pry it off carefully. Get a magnifying glass and look around the cover edge, there should be a small under cut. Pry at this point with a penknife blade or similar. If the cover has 6 or 8 small indentations in it then it likely unscrews but you may still need to see a watch shop for the tool to unscrew it.
Fossil watches have a 2 year warranty so if its inside this, take it to a dealer.

Trouble replacing rear analog watch cover

mcdevito75 here, Replaceing that back cover can be a real pain. I think I have a tip for you. Place the cover only in the Frig. for about 15--30 minutes, the cold should shrink the cover just a bit so it may be easier to snap back onto the back of your watch.---------- OR, Make sure any cutout on the back of the watch is lined up with the stem, make sure any lip used to pry the back cover off the watch is also lined up with the case of the watch if need be. Place the back cover on the watch back, place the watch on a sturdy table, counter top etc. Crystal up, now with even, even pressure useing your palm, press down on the crystal, this should get the back cover to snap back on. Remeber even, even down ward pressure useing the flat palm of your hand on the crystal, press down slowly and the back cover should snap on. If not, visit a small watch repair shop in your area as they have a special pliers just for this job.

I want to change out batteries

Hello,
1. Lay the watch upside down on top of a towel or cloth on a flat workspace. Use a small flat head screwdriver or blade to pry under the watch backing, then lift the backing from the watch. Slide the battery cover to the side to access and remove the battery.

2.Take the battery to any electronics store to purchase a replacement. Bringing the old battery will ensure you install the correct type of battery in your Fossil watch.

3. Replace the battery and the battery cover. Apply pressure to the backing until it "pops" back into the watch.

Fossil ch2360 can not figuare out how to get to the battery

mcdevito75 here, Most Fossil Watches have a press fit back cover. First locate ant tab, or indentation that is on the back cover linning up with the case itself, Carefully use a steak knife under that tab or in the indentation, slot in the cover abd pry up. From there you may need a jewlers screwdriver to loosen the battery hold down plate to remove the battery. BEST BET, look for a small watch repair shop in your area to change the battery.

I have found a fossil watch model BG-2103. I cannot get the back off to change the battery, can you tell me how to get the back off and how much this watch cost.

mcdevito75 here, Look for any Notch in the cover that match a notch in the case, use a knife with a sharp blade and place the knife in the notch and with a slight twisting motion the cover should pop off. Depending on the age of the watch and the functions cost could be anywhere betwwen $25.00----$60.00 Fossil watches are also collectables.

The back doesn't seem to want to snap back in

Try a very small dab of a very light lubrican on the sealing edges.

If you haven't already tried it, press the edge of the watch back using two fingers and move them appart until they meet again.

Season with a lot of parience... good luck!

I just need to replace the battery, how do I open the back, does it twist off or snap off.

Some are twist or snap off..We get so many that are pressure back cover.Sometimes it can be done with a knife and there is a small hindge where you can snap it off with a knife so easy but the problem will be putting it back on because you have to snap it back on with pressure and it can only be done with a machine. If it is a twist that should be easy, all you do is put both thumbs around the lid and press and twist to the right and it should open. This lid should close tight after you put the battery or the water will get into the watch and damage the watch mechanism.
